It's been a while since I last watched kids' morning cartoons, so can someone explain to me why the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are in the future now?

I stopped watching some time before that, but I do remember seeing promos for it and going, "Ninja Turtles... in the future? Seriously? Okay, someone find the shark they jumped, it's gotta be around here somewhere..."

Seriously, it's as bad as the decision that Sonic X's third season should be (say it with me now, and don't forget the reverb) IN SPACE!

SUCH IS THE EXTENT to which I am baffled by TMNT in space.

Also if they all grew up together why does Raphael have a Brooklyn accent and Michaelangelo have a Californian accent?

*DRAMATIC PRAIRIE SIPP*

Because Michaelangelo was dropped on his head as a child. And Raphael just wants to be badass

Because...

... Um... I think they like got transported there by that kid because he's obsessed with the past or something. Or because he's useless and neede someone kickass to do stuff for him.

Either way, it's painful to watch. D:

Why didn't they just take turns punching his crotch into nonexistence, and then jump back in the time machine? D:

Because he's Casey Jones and April's crotch-worm! And if they punch him in the crouch April get all emo on them.

It'll be like the first movie all over again. Do you want that?! D:

I have no idea. and I haven't bothered watching it after seeing a couple of episodes and cringing. I'll stick to the original version, thanks. x_x Also, why is it that all 2d animation outside of japan these days must be done in the same oversimplified, blocky, ugly style? Draw it properly, sheesh.

Hear hear, it's sad to see the western animation industry lapse into what it has. Although I'm willing to make an exception for Transformers Animated, partly because I love robots, partially because it's fun to watch.

Because the future is more EXTREME than the present and the Turtles are nothing if not EXTREME TO THE MAX
