(Sorry if this posts twice, my router is a piece of crap!)
Trozei was kind of like Meteos (DS) or Puzzle League. There was a small story, but it was very repetetive. The whole premise of Channel was, "You get to watch Pikacu while he watches television." Good for kids. Hey You, Pikachu! could be really great if it was re-designed for the Wii, what with the microphone everyone bought for Animal Crossing and the motion controls. Those minigames on Stadium were awesome! I loved the ones with Clefairy and Ekans.
That's what I was hoping for, a remake of Hey You, Pikachu! for the 3DS. Mostly because I never got to play it and it's one of those things you want to experience anyways even if you're an adult now and it's not as good as expected.
I like Mystery Dungeon but think Puzzle League was kinda needless. My test for a good spinoff is this: "Does it have anything to do with the original series and isn't just a you-could-swap-any-series-in-and-it'd-be-the-exact-same-game game?"
I think all the main series games are just like expansion packs, some are slightly better than others, but only so.
