“Knew what?” Brendon asks, trying not to stare, but it’s hard when Ryan is right there, slowly crossing the line labeled “Brendon’s personal space”. Not that Brendon minds, of course.

“That I didn’t love her, that I never have,” he says quietly.

“You never…” Brendon says shocked.

“How could I?” Ryan asks. “She knew that I never loved her because I was always in love with you.”

Brendon’s head starts to spin. “You… You…” He can’t get the words out of his mouth.
