They had phaser rifles for when things really got bad. Jayne should have one, and a pair of type-2 phaser pistols, and a Bat'leth slung over his shoulder. And some photon grenades, he'd really love those.

Well, yes, but the truly militaristic weapons didn't come out until DS9. So yeah, Jayne would have had a phaser rifle with a photon grenade launcher slung under it and a Bat'leth as a bayonet.

That is all. Otherwise, this is full of win and I am stealing this lock, stock, and barrel. Though Mal as a Starfleet (and by definition Federation) Captain? He'd be better suited for the Maquis.
