I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the rest of the year is going to be pretty good to me.

That being said, I'd like to do stuff that also makes the rest of the year better for others. I wish I had more time for it. I can't help but feel sometimes that I am a better person when I am not as happy.

Do you think that perhaps you feel that way because when you're unhappy you're more conscientious of other unhappy people and when you're happy you're so focused on your happy you forget about others?

That likely has something to do with it. Another bit is that I am happiest when moderately busy doing interesting things (some of which is altruistic stuff, but the rest is nerdy). There's less time.

I can understand that. So it's not that you're a bad person when you're happy, it's that you're simply more distracted. :)
