Then again, if we read it in another way, we do need to check out our own backyards for tissue selling grannies and can picking uncles before we offer help to the needy elsewhere...

We don't get to choose how much tax we want to pay, but we get to choose how much we want to donate, at some instance at least.

And I sincerely Believe tat we donate more, from other various sources...
I dun tink the ppl tat are really in need, will reject our 'small' sum... In chinese saying ' ji shao chen duo'.

Of course, when it comes to a donation, no minimum sum should be stipulated or imposed on. Those people in need will appreciate any amount or help that goes to them. The Ah Tiong (assumed to be) who posted that message in Baidu is probably not from the earthquake hit region.
