I think it's more that you've changed so much since you could truly consider it "home." Life's funny like that. You grow up feeling secure in your surroundings, like your place in life makes perfect sense. Then you leave home and the place isn't the same anymore. You're not the same anymore. I've been feeling the same way for a couple of years now since I haven't lived at my parents since the year we graduated, been moving around so much since then. I don't even call it my house anymore...it's now my parents, that's a huge thought to wrap your head around on it's own. Whenever I get that feeling though, it always reminds me of a quote from "Garden State."
"Andrew Largeman: You know that point in your life when you realize that the house that you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of the sudden even though you have some place where you can put your stuff that idea of home is gone.
Sam: I still feel at home in my house.
Andrew Largeman: You'll see when you move out it just sort
