Gaaaah Dean'n'Cas emotions all up in this...I'd never thought of that before, that Cas--Dean's best friend--never would have come into his life if not for the worst thing that ever happened to Dean (Sam's death and the deal)...and now feelings. Wow.

I almost had a line in here about Sam thinking, for a second, that he saw the shadows of Cas's wings. Would you have liked that better, or would that have made things too explicit? Hmm, now I wanna play in this verse some more...

When I wrote this I just sort of had Cas do whatever I needed him to do to move the scene along, and in retrospect I kind of like that fact that he's not entirely Cas-like (watch Sparrow defy death as she justifies her own poor characterization!). I think my general theory for Cas in this universe is that in this parallel universe, there is no such thing as the supernatural, and if Cas wants or needs Dean he has to go through other channels. That said, that theory only makes the barest threads of sense.

Yeah, I think I have headcanons about your dic. Can I write a fanfic of a fanfic or is that too creepy? ;D
