POOR DEAN. You are very mean to him. This was a nifty look at Dean being thrown into a whole bucnh of AUs, both canon and fanon. I was so glad when he finally made it home (although I was a little surprised there wasn't some sting waiting at the end :D).

I wanted to leave it up to y'all to decide if Dean's really made it home or not. In the original draft there was some more sinister stuff going on around the edges, but it didn't really fit in with the "canon AUs and fandom staples" theme, so I toned it down. I like to think that even if they're not home yet, the Sam and Cas in the last scene are Dean's Sam and Cas. The originals. :)

I loved how Dean was the crazy one in all the 'verses 'cept his own. What a perfect comment! :D

I gave you my mini review of this already, but I read it just now again, and then I had to read it AGAIN because I found myself in the middle of a mind-bending realization of how AWESOME it is.

Angel!SalmonDean is a verse I never knew I needed in my life until now. It's just so interesting to think about Castiel's relationship with his "brothers and sisters" vs. Dean's relationship with Sam (because when Cas says "brother" or "sister" I always think of it in the figurative, brother-in-arms sense), and how when those two get inverted it hits home that angels killing angels is like, A BIG DEAL - and poor Dean not feeling like he's not cut out to be an angel, and poor human Cas, and Protective!Anna is a BAMF and DEAD ANGEL SAMMY IS NOT OK.

Also I was reading the whole thing looking forward to Dean Smith and when it happened I audibly yelled DEAN SMITH and slammed my hand on my kitchen table celebrated in a very polite and civil manner. ;)))

This was a trip. Dean was so very Dean all the way through, whatever universe he was in (or perceived himself to be in), and however the AU versions of the others acted. Quite scary! And the only thing I w sure f at the end was that Dean had made it back to (perceiving) the world (as the "right" one).
