Wow, this is gorgeous, totally. I really like seeing Dean and Cas through Benny's eyes and I really like how you've used him here. I would love to have seen more of the build-up to trust/brotherhood than simply that moment when Benny saved Cas. Fics like this make Dean's loyalty to Benny much easier to comprehend. And I also really liked the callout to things that have happened to Dean in the past, the references to his time in Hell. These things are important... what has happened to the characters should inform and infuse them moving forwards, but so often it doesn't happen in canon. It is always really good to find fanfic that touches on these matters.

I'm so glad you liked it! I find Dean and Benny's intense loyalty very interesting, as it's a very different camraderie than that shared by Cas and Dean, or Sam and Dean. Very fire-forged, immediate, trust-me-cuz-who-the-hell-else-are-you-gonna-trust. I like it a lot, and really hope the show isn't entirely done with it.

Benny's POV in this was just delightful. And aksljfalksj Deaaaaaan. I realize this is a super eloquent comment, but the combination of all these bits and pieces and phrases and thoughts comes together really well. There's something jagged running through this piece that just screams "Purgatory" to me in ways that actually aren't all that easy to come by. Needless to say, I enjoyed this supremely. This is fucking amazing. Dean's brittle, tenuous grasp on sanity and Castiel's understanding and the odd little hints you have about the complexity of their relationship are so chilling and lovely.

And Benny. Seriously, you got Benny's voice down so perfectly. I love it.
