Canon Sparrington

The best thing to happen in the third movie for us, the Sparrington-shippers,  would be James Norrington to die.  (And yes, this is, in fact, just speculation! ^^)

James giving his life for saving Jack would be the most dramatic, memorable, and most of all possible interaction between the two of them.

To be blunt and honest, we'll never get to see ( Read more... )

A very, very interesting speculation. And I agree, it would be so very appropriate - and they would also have to explore the fact that James has indeed gone "over" to the pirate's side of things. No angst there, LOL! Lots of room for self-examination on Norrington's part, although I could see where the powers that be might now want to spend much time on such introspection, it's not action-oriented enough. Hmmmmmmmm, much food for thought!

And what could possibly be better than James dying?

You're kidding, right?

You took that sentence out of its context - unfair! XP

Of course I don't want Norri to die for nothing. I ment him dying for Jack would be as close as possible to Sparrington as the movie can get.

Of course, I'd love to read other, less deadly suggestions from you.

I thought it was the entire context. But maybe I misunderstood, sorry.

Hm... that is a very interesting theory. Quite honestly, I don't think it will happen. It is possible that James dies, but I don't think he'll give his life for Jack. As we do all agree, the writers don't think like us Sparrington fans. James will most likely be killed by one of the good party who thinks he's really part of the bad party or he will die for the 'good caus' That's what I think. In any case, I shall be heart-broken if he dies.

Actually, I don't think it's going to happen either. I'm just hoping for it. Because if he gets, for example, killed by Will for being a bad guy, I'm going to scream. XP

P.S.: Your icon! ^^

Yeah, my icon. XD Based on an rp I'm doing with someone and we thought Nickelback's 'Savin' Me' is the perfect theme song for it. :D

I would seriously cry if James dies, but if he has to... I don't really care who does it, I just want it to be an important death, not comical and I absolutely insist on seeing elizabeth cry for him. (She owes him that at least.)

A comical death for Norrington would just be disappointing and infuriating to me. But he's to important of a character to die like this, anyway.

Please tell me what an RP is, so I can go "Yeah, an RP!" :)

I guess you're correct in saying that James dying to save Jack would be as close to Sparrington that canon will ever get, but I don't think it would be the most helpful thing canon can do for the fandom. The most helpful thing would be to have lots of snarky scenes between the two of them, and to give James more screentime in general. And maybe wrestling. Yes. ::writes wrestle!fic::

If they kill off Norrington, I think we'd just end up with a lot of deathfics and stubborn disregard for canon. Which we have anyway.

And I would be sad.

Wrestling in the mud, perhaps? I am a member of "Team - Roll Around In The Mud With Norri", you see. ;)

I don't like deathfics. They make me so very sad. But I'm kind of fixated on them. Those, and kittens.

well, mud is kinda of wet and dirty. I prefer dry, snuggly wrestling. Where they bang into tables and curse and dry-hump a little bit ( ... )

Jack sniffled and raised his moist chocolate orbs to James' emerald pools.

You said mud's too wet and dirty for you? Well, the word moist is both wet and dirty to me! O_O

I would hate to see Norrington die.*does a slow mo "Nnnooooooooooo!"*

But I have to agree with you, death never stops fannon or AU fics! But if they simply must kill him off, I hope its a really good heroic death scene and makes everyone (other characters and the audience) get all sad and weepy.

Example: Like Boromir's death scene in LOTR *sniff*. (and his death hasn't stop all the Aragorn/Bormir slash fics. ~_^)
