Author's Note: The political unrest referenced by Elizabeth in story relates to Jacobitism - Scottish Gaelic:Seumasachas) was a political movement in Great Britain and Ireland that aimed to restore the Roman Catholic Stuart King James II of England Brother to Charles II King of England, and his heirs to the thrones of England, Scotland and Ireland when Charles II died. The movement was also about raising funds by the rebels to pay for raising an army and put the James back on the British throne. He hid in France and was secreted into Scotland. Adherents rebelled against the British government on several occasions between 1688 and 1746. Inference in story that the Medici's were utilized as bankers, loaning large amounts of money for the Jacobite cause. The strongholds of Jacobitism were parts of the Scottish Highlands and North-Eastern lowlands, Ireland, and parts of Northern England
