I know some folks who had a schoolbus for a while, and I'm pretty sure you have other friends who know them as well. Heck, if you were ever at a party at werewulf'S in Maryland, you may have met.
I'm surprised by the "not highway speeds" - in the DC area we definitely have buses that go on the beltway and some of our highways.
