Yun Zhong Ge Chapter 39: Knowledge brings pain; devotion an early death

I had the most trouble translating this chapter because of the title, and the food names. They don't sound as poetic in English, but if I try to translate them poetically, they don't sound like food. In the end, I had to look up menus and picked the closest translations. As for the title, it is partially lifted from 'The Book and the Sword', and ( Read more... )

sparkskey, thx so much for keep translating despite your busy life :-)

ah...this chapter is really heartbreaking, the time ling ge ge n yun ge has is only like blink of an eye, couldn't bear the heartache that is coming.

btw liu he going straight his home i/o the palace, it seems ling ge ge has somehiw indicate tha he chooses liu xun as his successor. i don't know if liu he is aware that ling ge ge was poisoned by liu xun and hence the bitter laugh since he might not understand ling ge ge's choice.

Every single moment between LGG and YG is beautiful and heartbreaking. That bit about the hot spring made me chuckle. As for LH, he is smart, ambitious, and loyal, but he was not allowed to do anything with his talents.

Thank you, Sparkskey, for your hard work and translation. You are awesome!

Thanks Sparkskey! It's a wonderful surprise to read this as I 've been away - to Singapore, in fact, for a week! Love the interaction between LGG and YG and also, the little hint that YS too was in love with YG and never forgot the young skylark who saved him. I'm actually keen to read how MJ will exact his just reward for saving LGG the first time he was ill. Why has he left them alone to spend time together? Thanks! Can't wait for more! - Darcy

You were? Hopefully you didn't get caught in the rain. The weather here has been absolutely crazy. I always felt that Meng Jue was always above that selfish man he had made himself out to be; it just that either didn't want to see it, or didn't want others to notice it in him, which was why he threw that ridiculous condition out. He knew that no matter how in love Liu Fu Ling and Yun Ge were, they couldn't have their happy ending - it was something beyond their control, either one of them would get hurt, so he did that to protect Yun Ge, and to give her an out.

I was only in Singapore for 6 days and experienced the torrential downpour one day. Fine the rest of the time. Went crazy shopping for winter coats in Singapore - couldn't believe that Zara stocked clothes for the northern winter. Sounds crazy but Australia is so counter cyclical.
