PC, you and I are done professionally.

The backlight on my laptop has given out for good this time, and I am now stuck with a computer that I can do nothing with because I can't see anything on the fucking screen. I took it to Geek Squad today where the girl patiently and kindly informed my shaking self that there's nothing they can do, I have to ship it to Dell. GODDOMOT. I don't even ( Read more... )

D:

Noooo, that's horrible!! (I know how it is though, I do everything with my laptop and if I didn't have it I would fall over and cry into my pillow and not want to wake up ever.)

But LOL, I love the Pon Farr icon!

A few years ago, the screen on my laptop literally melted. I went to Best Buy to inquire, same as you, and got told the same thing. Fixing it would cost more than the computer was worth, so I just bought a monitor and hooked it up to the laptop. It still works - bless it, as it's 8-years-old - and I just got a new laptop eventually.

And at least yours wasn't stolen D= My whole life was on that thing. I bought a new one today, and while it's awesome so far, it's not at all the same. ='(

Drive-by sympathy on the stolen laptop. That was by far the most traumatic part of my own "getting robbed" experience.

IKR? I just keep thinking of all the random files I can't get back cause they're not online or anything, like pictures from family vacations, and random stories I've written and the like. It's by far the most frustrating bit of this whole thing.

D: I'm so paranoid about my computer being stolen. Even though I live alone, I have that thing password-protected, and if I leave my apt for more than a day I take it with me or hide it in the closet or something. And all my important files are on an external hard drive that travels with me.

In my last apartment, I had a roommate who was not the brightest crayon in the box, and she left on vacation for two weeks and left her laptop next to an OPEN WINDOW in her room in our GROUND FLOOR APARTMENT. *facepalm* She came home to discover that of course it was stolen, and didn't understand why when she reported it to the police, they were looking at her like she was a complete moron. Needless to say, I don't miss her!

But omg I'm so sorry about yours being stolen. I would be devastated :'(

gaw. I feel for you. I think I would just jump if I had to go without a computer mac for a month. (my mom was going to get me a touch but then she realized I wouldn't ever sleep because I would be on the internet. for always. obsessy-face)

Oh no, you have a Dell? D: That's your first problem right there :( Dell laptops are AWFUL. I lost count of how many times I've had to call technical support/have it shipped to Dell/have a technician come to my house.

Get a Mac. It will save you SO much time and energy.

Yeah, I really can't wait to get my mac. I don't think I know of any PC laptops that aren't an utter piece of crap.
