[Gosh Tamaki why are you so ridiculous it is so easy to be dramatic and carefree around you] Aaah, Mr. Tamaki, don't work yourself that hard. I can help with decorations and organizing and everything, and it's not like I mind waitering. I just object to starving for something like etiquette. Being polite is important, you should always be a gentleman, but to that extent... That's really just as awful.

Now, now. I'm being unreasonable, aren't I? Of course, no one would know any different, especially if you took a great deal of care and only sneaked a bite discreetly every now and then.

But the reality is, these ladies entertain a number of expectations. What for you might be a night of planning and studied execution, for them, it'll be a dream come true. A flawless dream, bound by honesty. Betraying a lady's standard of etiquette is betraying her trust. In truth, it's something unthinkable.

This is the difference between the work of a charlatan and that of a gentleman: hosting comes from the heart.

In your case, it'll come from the abstinent stomach.

This kind of thing is really important to you, isn't it? You're so enthusiastic about it, and at first it seems kind of over the top and you're just doing whatever comes to mind... But, all you want is to sincerely provide a wonderful, high class evening for everyone to truly enjoy.

If that's the case, then you're right. It wouldn't do to have a waiter sneaking food all night, it was wrong of me to assume you wouldn't mind. I'm sorry, I underestimated your dedication.

Ah... you can knot your own tie, right?

Mm, I can. I know how to dress myself properly for something like this; when I trained under him, my Master always placed importance on being well presented for the occasion.
