Oh dear... well, my laptop may finally have had it. I'm hoping it'll start working again, but right now it isn't looking too good.

So, to keep it short, I may not be online so much until I can get this sorted. Clients, colleagues and friends, please email me as normal but forgive any delays replying.

Not good. Mine has a gone a couple of times now. The first time required turning the flat upside down to find the recovery disk! One of these days it will go altogether.
At least you have your phone so you're not totally in the dark :)

Exactly! Phone is a god-send right now, though signal isn't super-reliable in our house... the biggest issue is accessing software, files, etc. that hadn't yet been backed-up :-(

Plus, it's an old apple that used to be John's. I don't think we have any manuals, etc. Urg.
