The weekend was amazing. Friday was our last day of day sail programs, which means our CTY (John Hopkins' Center for Talented Youth) are right around the corner, with maintenance (I.e., sanding, sanding, and more sanding, followed by varnishing and painting) all this week, then a trip with a group of Boy Scouts to St. Michael's and Gibson Island ( Read more... )

In sailing vessels, a ship has three or more masts. (A full-rigged ship means a ship with all three masts square-rigged). A boat has less than 3 masts.

In modern non-sailing terms, a boat is a vessel than can fit on another vessel. In other words, an aircraft carrier is a ship, whereas a deep-sea fishing vessel is a boat.
