While my courage and fears have been tested in the past two months, and been shaken in a transit not too long ago, recent news has brought the all-too-real possibilities of sailing into focus.

It won't. My ship is a safe Home. Not saying the PC isn't, but.. yeah. Frightening.

I suppose the best one can do is be careful and trust herself, her ship, and her crew. That's the only way.

I don't mean it to sound funny,but could you get a giant rope and tie yourself to the ship so if you go overboard they just can haul you in?

It's actually kind of creepy. We set up "life lines" in strong seas.. lines running about four feet above the deck in a tic-tac-toe formation that we clip our harnesses into as we walk across the deck. However, that's only on the main deck (the most exposed area) and not on the quarterdeck.

Still, we try to be as safe as possible while still able to do and move as we need to.
