I think this is my favorite of the four Shiki/Eri fics you posted (although I enjoyed them all). It's hard to remember sometimes what a little shit Neku was at the beginning of the game, and I like how you focused on that.

I really like how you write Shiki and Eri's relationship. You really capture the conflict well.

Neku was SUCH a little shit at the start of the game, so much that he is deserving of a Dahlia Hawthorne icon. (Nice Ema Skye, by the way.)

This is one of my favorite things I've written fanfic-wise, too. Since the focus wasn't on Eri and Shiki's relationship, I just got to write them being a couple and I liked doing that.

Thanks for the comment!

On the one hand I feel totally sympathetic toward Shiki, because he wasn't like that! but, on the other hand, I love how Eri is just so protective there. Like, "He tried to kill you?"

Of course, everything was totally Uzuki's fault, but Neku tried to kill you?

Yeah, I think it's just an impossible situation for an outsider to understand. Neku was horrible, but his friendship with Shiki is genuine and loving and wonderful post-game... it's just that, well, Neku was horrible and it's hard for Eri to accept someone who hurt her friend. Protective!Eri was fun to write.

And rereading this makes me wanna write some Uzuki.
