Well, we couldn't possibly have anything of value to say or to contribute to society, Oh no, because if we have jobs just like them then we might deserve to be given attention for cruel punishment at the hands of bigoted assholes like the Cardinal. It's utter BS that just because he's a religious figure that we should "show him respect." He's not worth the time to knock down and piss on, yet we should "show him respect."
