Valentines day has swung round again. And words cannot express how much I hate this day (though I am looking forward to the much more fun holiday - cheap chocolate day

Really hate/don't care about Valentines Day for what you've said: That it's like the day LOVES to mock us 'Singles' (When there are some of us that don't mind/love being single, yet...), and that it's just all straight, straight, straight. Only thing I care about is the chocolates too.
You rat bastard now I have Cupid in a set of neo-steampunk goggles, faux leather spandex with LOGOS ALL OVER THEM and sporting a pair of itty bitty useless wings stuck in my head!
That is an awesome image. Someone needs to create it for realz so I can put it on anti-valentine's day cards.
If it makes you feel any better, Sparky, here in Vancouver the biggest department store downtown has three valentine's day mannequin displays... one of which is of two male mannequins.
It's not a section on the hallmark card rack, but it's a start.
It totally sucks that the corporate machine leaves out a significant portion of the population in their "romantic" ads. I'd probably be more likely to support a company that did have good LGBT ads.
If you did feel the urge to participate and get beloved something, you could go a non-traditional route, and get/make him something less typical for the holiday, but something you know he'll appreciate. Or take him out on a date. Of course, another option, if you'd still rather not participate, is to suddenly surprise him with some of those suggestions on any other night, as a "just because I love you" thing. Which would be a pretty damn awesome thing to get surprised by, IMHO.
Also, one of my SO's sends out those little teensy school-type valentines to everyone in the harem, rather than traditional cards, and I just get an economy pack of regular sized cards, and write personal notes on them. (Standard 'romantic' cards tend to be of the "you're the only one for me" type, which just doesn't work with poly relationships.)
