You're not being ridiculous, dear one.

Would Beloved checking on you via IM work to soothe him without impinging too much on you?

Oh my...I certainly feel for you. Given a little time, your sense of peace will hopefully return.

In a matter of several very short weeks my apartment will have all of it's window replaced. They are floor to ceiling. They will be done all at the same time, leaving the whole front of my dwelling open to the elements for half a day. My stomach is in knots already. (I too have hermit tendencies.) Not to mention the work of having to pack up and/or move half of my belongings so they have free access to and around the windows. A bottle of Scotch sounds good to me already! :|

Time, silence and emptiness to rebuild the space.

Ugh a big bottle is essential for such things!

I feel the exact same way about my privacy. There are times the landlady sends repair people into my space. It really disturbs me. Especially since I sleep days and workmen work by day.

I would so not sleep with strangers in my house. I can't abide my terrirtory being invaded let alone while I'm asleep

*hugs*

That would have freaked me out no end too, :(.

Take care and be alone as long as you need to.

So sorry for what you have been going through . And poor Beloved, I know he wants to help in these situations but what loved ones don't always understand is they can't always help and sometimes their helping makes it worse.
My well meaning sister likes to point out how illogical some of my social anxiety is and I think she believes this will help me. It doesn't help because I am already aware that my anxiety isn't logical and her pointing it out just makes me mad at myself.
Bravo on not mixing the booze/pills, be proud of the rebuilding steps you taking, and wtg on the new windows

heh like logic ever reall;y has a place in such anxieties? We know it's illogical, know it's silly but it doesn't magicaly go away
