I typed a long comment but then realised I was saying nothing new so have reduced it to AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH... The BBC have decided it is time to feed the trolls again.

Pretty much this.

I'm probably being overly optimistic here, but I cling to the belief that there's one culprit for these fuck ups in there who occasionally manages to sneak them out under other people's noses. Not true, I know, but means I keep something akin to my faith in humanity that they will one day be fried or let go and we won't have this shit anymore.

That particular troll-feeding question seems to have dropped down the memory hole... I checked the HYS page just now and didn't see the question you mentioned.

FAIL.

Denial is NOT a River in Egypt alobar March 16 2011, 00:20:28 UTC
Back in 1993, when my then-wife and I had begun reading cards here in New Orleans, we made friends with some teenage gypsy readers. We were invited to their home. Once the father of the young gypsies realized we knew nothing of Gypsy culture, he sent an hour explaining things to us.

The thing which really stood out is that the man declared that there are NO Gay Gypsies.

My wife and I looked at each other. We could not comprehend such a bizarre idea. Wen we asked the teen Gypies about their Dad's remark, they rolled their eyes and told us that traditional older Gypsies had a bad habit of denying that any Gypsy could stray from the tribal ideal. Gypsies never married of dated outside of Gypsy tribes. No Gypsy was ever Gay. Etc.

Such in-grown cultures disturb me.

I don't even think it's a matter of insular communities (And you certainly can't refer to all of Africa that way). SO much of straightness tries to reject our presence and existence. There are national leaders, heads of huge world religions, political philosophers and movements - there's a huge denial thing going around

I'm not sure what they hope to accomplish with these surveys, other than to reveal how much of the population is composed of homophobic fucktards.

I don't either - hits maybe from encouraging the prejudice?
