Well this is embarrassing

Didn't realize that it has been almost the full length of September since I've updated. Whoops? Basically, the lack of updating boils down to this: I open the coffee shop five days a week and intern 3 of those days. I'm also attempting to train for a 5k while keeping the apartment somewhat clean and mainlining seasons 1 and 2 of Downton Abbey. So ( Read more... )

biking doesn't make me a hipster, coloring on myself, work eats my soul

Holy crap, that looks awesome! I'm still planning mine, but seeing yours really wants me to get it done even more. Can't wait to see the finished work.

Thank you! I love it a lot, and can't wait to see what else he does with it. I'll post pictures after the next two sessions, and by then we'll know if I need to have a 5th.

What are you planning to get?

Wow, I don't think I've gone more than 45 minutes yet. Then again, the ones I've got aren't that big, so that's a good thing. :)

The theme of my back piece is the first two lines of We are the music makers by Arthur O'Shaunassy: we are the music makers and we are the dreamers of the dreams. It's probably going to be something like a female sleeping robot, Mary and some sort of musician. Not sure how if it's going to work and I haven't found anybody I think who'd be able to do it like I'm seeing it, so it's a bit of a long term plan.

I'm also planning on getting something done by
Noon, a French tattoo artist with an incredibly cool style I love to bits. That's more of a logistical problem as he lives in France and works in Berlin and London and I'm in the Netherlands. Besides that he's got a pretty hefty waiting list of a couple of months. As to what I'm going to get? I'll give him the theme mentioned above, point at my leg and so go.

Edit: deleted the other reply because it didn't link to this thread. Pressed a wrong button I

That sounds cool! I pretty much did the same thing with this tattoo- told Steve the basics of what I wanted, and then basically told him to go to town.

I'm not gonna lie, long sessions hurt. But any tattoo is going to hurt, you know? Once you get into the groove, you'll be fine.

Eh, I listen, without irony, to the Top 40 music station. I think I'm banned from hipsterdom, if not its trappings.

I don't know if I will go to the bike shop. I mean, hopefully I'll have a job in my field before it comes to that. But I am getting tired of the coffee shop, and waking up at 4 in the morning 5 days a week. We'll see.

Thank you! I'm quite in love with it, and can't wait to get more done. Though I could do without the itching and aching afterwards. :-)

Neither can I! It won't be done until spring, most likely, but it should be awesome once it is finished! You need to put up pics of your piece, I didn't even realize you were in the middle of a big one!
