Nicely done! I really like the metaphor of feeding the innocents on the bodies of the dead. It's gruesome but..that's the aftermath of war.

You might consider putting a spoiler warning on this one, though, at least on the fic comm you've xposted to?

hurr, I completely forgot about spoiler warnings. :B Thanks.

I'm glad you liked it! I didn't want the metaphor to be too strong (like, obnoxiously obvious) but then I was worried it wouldn't be noticed at all. I'm relieved! Thanks. :3

Aww the babbies. ;; This was great and creepy but in a really good way. I loved how Optimus was still movieverse Optimus, with the mention of his lack of mercy, but he comes off a little softer here which I really liked.

Thanks so much for writing this, it's a great read. :)

Belated comment: yay you did it! This is the only fix-it fic I really needed, those poor hatchlings.

I love how you handled OP's conflicted feelings, and it flows really well all-around, but there is one sentence in particular that really stuck with me:
>These were the best of our race. They'll take care of you.

Just ;-;
I might be pretty desensitized to robot cannibalism (how did that happen?), but in that point it definitely went from morbid to utterly bittersweet for me. Really well done. ♥

This was a wonderful story, and for me, highlighted that these are, indeed, aliens. It just makes sense. I see the Cybertronians as a species that does not believe in waste, and find our species tremendously wasteful. This is a far better use for dead shells than rusting in the ocean.

Optimus is cold here, very much movieverse (which I keep fixing in my mind), but I appreciate you highlighting his lack of mercy, and yet the gentleness with the hatchlings.

I'd very much like to see it continue.
