To spout on about something random, I just returned home from attending the National Poetry Slam 2003 in Chicago. My brother, a multi-talented writer/poet type, was on the DC/Baltimore team. They came in 27th out of 63 teams, which is pretty damned impressive. Poetry slams can be a bit brutal. Scoring is done by randomly selected audience members

thank you for singing my praise yet again, sweetie. you're first post was way more interesting than mine. and yes, you do have the talent to be one of the good poets. you just lack the talent to correctly spell "the" at the end of your post. and i second the love that you gave the austin team. congratulations again to genevieve, chris, andy and da shade!
