Oh hell...

Having just temporarily extracted myself from the mire that is the current Harry Potter fandom, I feel the need to vent. What the ever-loving-hell is wrong with people? I consider myself to be a fairly big fan of the books; big enough that I stood in line at midnight the night that Half-Blood Prince was released. However, my compulsiveness ( Read more... )

Someday when I stop hating the fifth book, I will finish this one and comiserate with you fuly. Until then, for real, how you gonna be surprised that people online have too much free time and not enough social life (fan fiction, anyone?)? I mean, really.

Darling, you will totally stop hating the fifth book when I finally get you to listen to Stephen Fry's rendition of it. Stephen Fry reading anything is love in its purest form.

I once heard Stephen Fry reading the J section of the thesaurus. Ahh, his Britty little voice saying "jocular, jovial, jocund..."
I suppose it could make those hundred fifty endless pages bearable.

Hell, skip over the first 150 pages. I'll write up the cliff notes on it for you. Trust me though, Stephen Fry could make anything good... even Secrets and Lies.

On a somewhat related note, I'm currently listening to the Jim Dale (or American version) of Half-Blood Prince out of sheer desperation. I'm sure he's a very nice man, but he's making me want to stick sharp things in my ears.
