Dan tried not to listen when he heard the rising volume of the near-nightly Rorschach and Silk Specter argument. They did it almost every time they came into contact. One of them would look at the other the wrong way and a comment about whores or repression would slip out, and before he or Jon knew what was happening they would be engaged in a full out conflict that stopped just short of physical blows. Dan decided to step back from Archie to go drag his partner away from Laurie when he saw that Jon had already gotten there first. Then Jon extended his hand and Dan saw his part fly backwards and smack into a wall.

“Rorschach!” He ran over to him. “What’d you do that for?” He glared at the couple
