This anon has been having a really shitty time of it lately, and could very much use something a bit less fucked up than the usual fare. Specifically, either:

-some unrealistically fluffy Adrian/Dan. Yeah, I know some people think it's the most heinous pairing ever or whatever, but fuck it, my kink is okay.

or

-fic where Ursula and Byron are best friends and hang out drinking and smoking and talk each other down after a rough night's crimefighting.

Cheer me up, anons?

Adrian sighed as he snuggled closer to Dan.

He was starting to feel drowsy, Dan's low murmurs blending seamlessly with the narator of the nature documentry they were watching. He closed his eyes and slipped off to sleep.

Dan looked down when he heard the first snore and smiled.

Adrian was actually adorable when he was asleep, hair ruffled and mouth hanging open just a little.

Dan kissed Adrian's cheek then shifted himself to a more comfortable position on the couch. He tucked the blanket from the back of the couch around the two of them and let himself be lulled to sleep.

Instead of heading to Egypt, Adrian joins up with the Navy as he's passing through Malaysia. He serves a year before the war ends, floating through Southeast Asia and all along the Pacific. The days are hot and Adrian learns how a gun feels in his hands, and how it fires, and how it kills. Adrian turns inward at night and during sleep. He doesn't shed a single tear

They're both making their way to the bar by some unspoken agreement, the undulating press of bodies all around them, when a striking woman with red, red lips stumbles in front of Adrian and catches him by the shoulders.

She's flushed, already tipsy, and smiles slowly as she takes him in. "Why, hello"Hi," Adrian chuckles

The only thing hotter than Matthew Goode/Colin Firth is Adrian/Dan. But >baw!< I dont want to see Dan end up the way George does, both the book & the movie made me cry my heart out.

Honestly anon, this comment cheered me up almost as much as the fills. It's not the meme itself, but I am aware there are fans out there who think people who like the pairing are doing fandom wrong, and my paranoid imagination has them lurking around every corner waiting to judge me. ;) But kinkmemers are usually very open and welcoming about such things, as your comment proves.
