Yesterday, Walter Kovacs, also known as the famous vigilante Rorschach, was attacked in a prison brawl, confirming the fears of many who protested his placement in the prison's general population.

"I'm not sure what happened," said the guard on duty at the time. "One minute, the line's moving along as usual, the next there's a tussle and the guy's bleeding everywhere."

The attack happened in a cafeteria line, and the assailant is said to have been armed with an improvised weapon. This is only the latest in a series of assaults, but is the first to include an attempt at lethal force. Kovacs is currently in the prison infirmary in guarded but stable condition, but many argue that his chances of recovery are moot if this sort of assault continues.

"We do try to prevent this kind of thing," said the guard, late Saturday night. "We'd at least like to see the bastard reach trial, you know?"

I'm actually not entirely happy with it, the dialogue is kind of stiff and it's a little too clean - I may rework it before I continue, but I'm glad you're liking it so far because I think the premise has a lot of potential! C:

I think your dialogue is mostly fine; the only thing that jarred was Laurie saying 'I love you'...perhaps a bit early in their relationship for that? :)

I really like how you've set it up and how they'll know where to find him (and also the sly dig at canon... "Whee, lets just go spring him, oh look a riot, that's lucky cause we had no actual PLAN!" XD)

I am salivating over the prospect of more~

Yeah, that's what was jarring for me too; in my head she was being kind of flip and sarcastic about it, in a 'how else could you have gotten me to agree to this crazy shit' sort of way, but it just didn't translate well to the page.

I'll see what I can do to fix it.
