It wasn’t a lie, but Rorschach’s eyes still narrowed at him. Frantic not to lose any ground now, of all times, Dan leaned close enough for their noses to touch, still trying desperately to breath through his mouth. “And… I’m kind of nervous… I didn’t think you would ever-”

“Don’t-” Rorschach’s grimace had him ducking away from Dan’s eyes. “Can’t. Talk about it.” Dan ran a hand up the back of his neck to comfort him, forcing himself not to tense as grit and old skin rolled under his fingertips. “Hard enough just to feel it.” Rorschach mumbled into his chest. The smell from behind his ears was like really bad cheese and the urge to kiss one shriveled up in horror.

Do not flinch from him, Dan warned himself. He has finally reached out for something that isn’t a weapon and you have been waiting for this for years and he’s fighting back enough self-loathing to kill three normal people and if he even suspects that your eyes are not watering from emotion, he will be ten times more hurt and

Oh Dan. When will you learn not to ask questions and instead just push him into a shower and write it off later as one of you innumerable kinks? Your descriptions of Rorschach's lack of hygiene are so vivid, I just love it!

Rorschach blinked. Dan could practically see the gears turning behind his eyes while he processed that question. Was that slight head tilt the beginning of suspicion? Oh God

Part 2 that wouldn't fit

He shoved his hand into the waistband, rougher than he intended to be, but dammit, he was running out of air.

The sound Rorschach made then was too high-pitched, like a bird cry, and Dan felt his heart squeeze. This should’ve been gentler, more special, it was their first time after all. He shouldn’t be in such a hurry to get it over with to get to the awkward clean-up afterwards. He shouldn’t be grimly jacking his convulsing partner off while pretending he didn’t feel coarse hair and crusty underwear. He shouldn’t be praying Rorschach came before he ran out of the breath he was holding.

Oh squee, part 2! I haven't even noticed it was supposed to be multi-chaptered when I posted my reply, so imagine my joy at seeing this!
I really love how Dan second-guesses every little thing Rorschach does so painstakingly. And your desperate Rorschach is so very moe. And just this whole situation, heartbreaking.

Damn, I don't even know how this is managing to be so hot, but this is totally sending me to my bunk. UNF. I feel so bad for Dan, his guilt is just heartbreaking, but this is so canon it's amazing, since Rorschach would completely stink like a sewage facility. Such a great job of handling all the senses. Amazing job. :) But I sure hope Dan makes it through this (and maybe gets Ror into some soapy water at the end, leading to even more sexings).

Oh this is great, just what I had in mind, and you're not sugar coating Rorschach one bit. lol. Poor Dan! he's really trying so very hard not to ruin this! And Rorschach, he's just such a wreck and he's all needy and he's so gross that he doesn't even know he's gross. So heartbreaking! I hope Dan somehow manages to get him in a bath or shower by the end, and maybe get his teeth brushed too.

Oh god. This is so wonderful. Dan's tenderness and care is heartbreaking, and Rorschach's fight with shyness/self-loathing was so too, and your descriptions of Rorschach's smell and feel were very expressive and disgusting. And it felt so true to their characters. And god, I just love how Dan loves him so much in spite of not really wanting to touch him.

It didn’t take long. Rorschach spasmed hard. Dan felt the hot gush over his hand and against his stomach. He wrapped his other arm around Rorschach as he slumped. He could taste the smell in the air now and grimaced. Time for those clothes to come off. He set Rorschach back against the railing and started pulling his coat off. Dazed eyes refocused on him and Dan pressed a kiss to his mouth
