A friend whore is someone who has a large number of friends on a social networking site, but most of them are probably just aquaintances. For me I don't take into account the length of time to respond, it's either accept the friend invite or ignore it. If a friend request looks fine, I just accept it as soon as I see it, same with ignoring.

I could solve all this by creating FB groups for real friends, people I haven't seen in years, old work mates & acquaintances. Problem with that is that FB only does usergroups for wall updates so everything else is visible.

My main paranoia with FB is who exactly can see the shit I'm posting? Hence the fact I haven't put anything on it for like over a year & why all my security settings are totally locked down.

Hey, I know what you mean.. Sometimes work people don't want you to seem 'eager' to be friends, hypocritically. Sorta like dating.
Incidentally if that was me (accepting a week ago) sorry I was not in LinkedIn before - only started it!)
In other sites I may have friend-whore tendencies.. sending invites from the least bit of curiousity!! Did Hector really tell you that you were a friend-whore though!?
