He never had any need to trek into any place that was paved and created by other people; villages, cities, remote buildings.

Towns, such as this one he stood in, without any recollection of how he got here--was one more example. His ideal place to live was somewhere deep in the wilderness that so few human beings ventured. A high cave in a mountain suited this man best. He knew he did not live as a part of any society. Not at allThe perplexed blue and black clad ninja glanced around his surroundings quietly. Just where was he? Out of instinct, he had a sinking feeling of dread creep in the middle of his thought processes. ...Just how far was Sub-Zero, from the last isolated spot of land he chose to sleep at ( ... )

It's when he was actually approached that Mikado's smile faded just a little. It was a good thing that he was used to meeting strange people, because otherwise he might have been somewhat startled. Since he was used to strange things happening all around him, he didn't exactly jump, but he did feel somewhat nervous.

After all, here was someone else who was obviously lost, and Mikado couldn't give out the proper information. He didn't have it, after all.

Should he say so? Or would doing that reveal him to be vulnerable in a way that would open him up to attack? Then again, if he pretended to know something, it might make sense to then be attacked for refusing to give out the information, so he would probably be better off being honest.

He found himself bowing before he quite realized he was going to do so, out of habit.

"I'm sorry, I don't know either. I was in Tokyo and then... just here."

It had taken him longer than he cared to admit, but eventually Masaomi had adjusted to life in this place. Saki would hopefully be OK, while Izaya was stuck here. She'd found her way to the right people before; she should be able to do it again. And Masaomi's friends, well... He'd sort of said goodbye to them even before he got dragged here.

Or... saying goodbye might be a bit of an exaggeration...

He'd adjusted, anyway. Made new friends; pretended this was all normal, learning some spells and regularly dealing with cyborg attacks. Eventually, as always, he'd managed to convince himself that everything was peachy. And normal was exactly how he was feeling as he walked through town, wearing light armor. Nothing but normal.

Until he was confronted with the paradigm of actual normal ( ... )

Hmm, so the pup didn't know much? Well, he at least confirmed an earlier suspicion on this place not being Japan--it sure didn't look anything like Japan, from what Sub-Zero could recall...

Aside from that, there was not much else to go on. He sounded honest enough. Polite, too. The ninja however didn't feel inclined to return the bow, and he never averted from looking at him.

Sub-Zero wasn't too surprised about himself being transported from one realm to the next, with little warning. That usually lead to a fight or flight feeling. That's happened to him before...the few times he found himself in the realm of Outworld. Right now, he had that feeling, but knew the boy was no one to worry about. Still, he disliked being caught off his guard.

He just looks like some ordinary youth, he thought while ingraining the appearance of this boy into his memory. Who was he, exactly? Why was he here? (Hell, why was Sub-Zero even here?)

Just as he was about to ask for the youth's name--suspecting that he had some importance, or some ( ... )
