New House tonight!

So, I decided not to go downtown to do that hair model thing. I think they wanted me to pay, and I already have my hair cut. Plus, I'm tired and lazy. On my days off, I like to do nothing ^_^

(Among other things) I don't get why so many writers seem to have a hard time with them calling each other 'Spencer' and 'Lassiter' (with variations). There's nothing wrong with last names. Starsky and Hutch. House and Wilson. Hell, Gus isn't his first name, but you don't see people writing Burton.

Anyhoo... I don't suppose you have any good fic you'd like to rec, eh? ^_^

My problem, I think, is with excessive fluff. The Shawn voice in particular is hard; he is relentlessly light & silly, but with a really sharp, irony-heavy wit.

rispacooper's Slutty Boys 'Verse is aces. I think the first one took me a minute or two to really get into, but she's got some great psychological insights into the boys that make the lusty bits that much more awesome. And she doesn't ignore the other characters, either! Like, even when Gus isn't physically there, he's totally in Shawn's head.

scribblinlenore's What Happens in Freedom Stays in Freedom, which was my 2007 Yuletide present, and was so amazingly perfect that it made up for every other time I did a fan exchange and was bummed by what I got (or in one notable case, what I didn't get).

Very true *nods*

I think that's a problem with a lot of pairings I like who are snarky and such to each other. It's hard to find a fic where them getting together is plausible and in character.
