It's dark, cold, and quiet in the house right now. Everyone's asleep, but I'm not even tired yet, so I have to be really quiet. In a minute I'll watch something on TV with my headphones on, but right now I'm just bored ;)

What, exactly, is the 'living roof'?

They covered the roof with native plants. The green roof will keep the "building's interior an average of 10 degrees cooler than a standard roof would. The plants also transform carbon dioxide into oxygen, capture rainwater, and reduce energy needs for heating and cooling... Skylights above the larger domes will open and close throughout the day, enabling sunlight to reach the exhibits below. The steep slopes of the rooftop's hills will draw cool air into the open piazza at the center of the building." And it will also attract local butterflies, birds, and insects, some of which are endangered.
