I hate big events. I really do. All you do is plan and stress. I almost wish people didn't care about me graduating. I know my mom would be really upset if she has to miss it (her only daughter, her first kid graduating, etc.) but my grandma is having a brain biopsy on Friday (day before graduation) and I feel bad that my mom is going to be away

I feel you. My cousin's getting married in a week & thankfully I'm not in the party. I'm not looking forward to any of the chaos involved. Today I was simply discussing ideas for my wedding & my mother immediately started controlling all my decisions, from the groomsmen's tuxes to the photographer. Oiii.

Ugh. All the planning, possible things to go wrong, the pressure to make it perfect, and then it's over... I don't even much care for birthdays now. Just give me stuff. That's all I want ^_^

Given that the last wedding in my family, the preacher was stoned & the photographer was more like a student than a professional, there maybe hope for me yet.

I completely agree with you about big planned events. I don't even like my own birthday. I tend to fine that if you plan and organise something too much it tends to be shit, I just like those random impromtu nights you have that just turn out to be absolutely awesome. I'd rather have just one of those a year than 10 birthdays!
