I liked the Braille in the elevators. Even though I have no idea what it said! I'm just assuming it was something helpful. :)
Definitely 2-3 mics in every programming room would be ideal. I was pretty surprised that even larger rooms didn't have one.
Just a caveat that once you do add mics, you're probably going to get pushback from some panelists who'll say things like 'This is a small room, you can all hear us, right?' 'I have a loud voice, you can all hear me, right?' So it's helpful to add a word about mics in any pre-con communication you do with panelists.
Thank you for your feedback. I agree that an announcement from the programming manager or conchair about the microphones would be a good idea. I've also heard that we may need additional tech volunteers to make it happen. But we've had microphones in prior years, so I know it can be done (one for each panelist).
