You can always tell people like that you have a boyfriend. They don't have to know he's imaginary. I mean, it sucks that you have to do that but sometimes it's easier.

Funny, I never get hit on at all when I attend Otakon. I think the closest to a mutual flicker of interest was this one year I was heading with the crowd toward a down escalator and a cute Asian man in Army fatigues was sitting against a wall fiddling with his cell phone. Our eyes happened to meet and we smiled at one another. Oh and he wasn't a cosplayer, he was an ACTUAL soldier. I have no idea what he was doing there but I'll always remember he had a nice smile. :)
