It boggles my mind that in 2020, we have women doing all of the work by themselves.

Elf on a Shelf sounds like a nightmare. It would be cute if they simplified it - just have the elf show up in random locations, but without so many rules. That's adorbs. Having to console a traumatized child because Aunt Meredith moved the elf without knowing "better" is not adorbs.

My mom sent a box of Christmas stuff for the kids and it arrived today. I'm not even opening the box until tomorrow at present time, because I am *not* going to wrap an extra pile of crap just for the kids to immediately tear the wrappers off.

Last year both sides of the family decided to not exchange gifts. Both my mother and mother-in-law ignored the agreement, but the rest of us did, and the holiday was so much better. A gift card for the teenagers. We sat and visited instead of the usual chaos of opening gifts.

As I made Christmas cards for the first time in years, I discovered many decorations I bought with gift tags in mind. They're too 3-D to put in the mail on a card. I'll have to think of a new use for them.

I admire your sanity and no-stress attitude. Enjoy the holiday!
