With as much as I bake cakes, I think I really need one of those offset spatulas. I was watching the Detroit News Superbowl prep coverage a couple weeks ago, and they showed bakers baking cakes for all the parties and whatnot. Well, I have to say that I'm totally jealous of this turntable the bakers were using to frost the cakes. Like, you just put the cake on this plate and spin it around while holding the spatula stationary so that the frosting looks perfect. So, I need one of those now, too.

If I wasn't painting my living room tomorrow, I would certainly bake a red velvet cake commemorating the rescue of the Donner party!

I'd like to see pics of your cake if you end up making one!

I'm not sure it's worthy of a pic. It's so white and generic.

And now there's a big chunk missing out of it, so it just looks like a big white C.

I toyed with the idea of getting some of that icing in a tube and writing myself an inspirational message on the cake, but between the handwriting and the product, it'd probably look more like the multicolored scribblings of a retard.
