It's finally here! The Space Wrapped Prompt Store is OPEN!!!
Now, I have played fast and loose with the "groupings". You can interpret the prompts in any way possible. Go whereever your Muse takes you. Friendship, shy first fumblings towards a relationship, established, sexy, not sexy, old men or young--your ONLY requirement is to write Jim & Bones together.
So, read through the prompts, claim your 1st, 2nd & 3rd choices in a comment, and we'll let you know which one you can have.
Yes, we will allow multiple claims (up to 2 per prompt, especially is one is for ART). There are 85 prompts, and over 200 members.
If nothing here lights a fire in your soul, make one up! Just let us know in a comment what it is.
On October 15, we will close prompt claiming--and effectively close the fest to new participants. Then, you will be able to claim a date for posting. That gives you a few weeks to think, plan, outline, and figure out if you're able to post your story in those critical first few days of December.
Any questions? Direct them to spacewrapped@gmail.com
SEXY TIEMS
1. McCoy keeps threatening Jim with a Lump of Coal for being naughty...Jim takes it as a challenge.
2. All Jim wants for Christmas is a little role reversal so he can take some orders from Captain McCoy. 1.
blcwriter 3. Bones and Jim went to Georgia for the holidays...Joanna, Gran and Gramps McCoy (Bones' grandparents) have decided that all those years are more than enough to forget a woman. Would Leonard please settle with a kind woman again? They set him up with blind dates with old girlfriends, local doctor, etc. But Jim Kirk is the one that swept his Bones of his feet. Bonus if somehow some members of the McCoy family hear them one night; they hear Jim fucking Bones through the mattress and Bones pleading, and being LOUD. 1.
damnednforsaken 2.
eldritchhorrors 4. Jim has an oral fixation...Bones loves candy canes or vice versa. 1.
vivid_moment 5. For Christmas, Jim replaces all of Bones's underwear with
these. Everyone notices. At New Year's everything comes to a head.

9. Jim makes obscene balls to hang on the community fake tree. McCoy rolls his eyes....and then makes obscene candy canes.
10. McCoy: my favorite holiday item? Yule log. Stick that heats up and goes all night.
Jim: O Bones!
McCoy: That's one word for it.
11. Jim bakes sugar cookies and leaves them to cool. When he comes back, he finds McCoy with like eight colors of frosting he's piping on in intricate designs. Cookie-eating (and possibly unexpected uses of frosting) ensue(s). 1.
crazywriter10 SWEET COUPLE-Y
12. Bones covers his dorm room with little strings of lights when the holidays roll around, much to Jim's surprise. Jim decides Bones would probably like to go take a walk in a residential neighbourhood to see other people's holiday displays and doesn't tell him where they're going or why. Bones is touched when he realizes the surprise. 1.
umbrellas_can; 2.
the_dala 13. Jim loves any and all of the cheesy (creepy) holiday specials (you know the ones I am talking about, claymation, ancient animation all the good stuff) and proceeds to watch all of them in the weeks leading up to the holiday. It drives McCoy, more than slightly, insane until he finds out the real reason behind it. 1.
echoinautumn 14. It's the first holiday the Enterprise sends out in space away from Earth. Jim just wants to forget about it. McCoy will have none of it and proceeds to bring Jim around. 1.
cedarrapidsgirl 15. During the holiday season, Bones gets hit by some kind of alien whammy/ingests something he shouldn't and it makes him the most pleasant, cheerful person on the ship. It's supposed to last for 24 hours tops, but the niceness lasts for eight whole days. By the end of it, Jim wants to throw himself out an airlock. Cue hot, grumptastic sexy times when Bones returns to his usual cranky self. 1.
ryui 16. Jim and Bones's top five particular-to-them holiday (Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, whatever) traditions. 1.
openedbook 2.
ninfomana 17. Amanda Grayson celebrated Hanukkah. To honor her, and to do something nice for Spock, Uhura gets together with Kirk/McCoy - since the two couples are good friends by now - and plan a quiet, thoughtful celebration in her memory.
18. TOS prompt! Kirk and McCoy observe Christmas or Hanukkah (your choice) with Kirk's orphaned nephew Peter. (Following Sam and Aurelan's deaths in "Operation: Annihilate!") 1.
ens_sarik 19. First kiss on New Years 1.
sangueuk (Art) 2.
buhnebeest 20. Jim hasn't received a Christmas gift in a very long time 1.
misfitdauphine 2.
cookiechris80 21. First Winter Holiday Season on the Enterprise - mistletoe wackiness 1.
exiled_mind 22. PLANET CHRISTMAS: The Enterprise visits a planet where they're celebrating a winter festival remarkably like Christmas (perhaps with a few tweaks here and there), and it's snow/presents/cheer/mistletoe/candy canes/fat man alien in a red suit EVERYWHERE. The whole thing predictably turns Bones into a total Scrooge...until he realizes how delighted Jim is.
23. Bones is actually the one that loves Christmas and Jim is the one that hates it. 1.
dysnomia_hybris 24. Mirror Universe Jim & Bones celebrate some kind of holiday. 1.
amine_eyes 25. Either Academy days or when they happen to be back on Earth for the holidays - church on Christmas morning is part of McCoy family tradition, so Jim goes along. And proceeds to surreptitiously play footsie, whisper naughty things, and generally drive Bones crazy all throughout the service. (Full disclosure: this was originally supposed to be a scene in my s_w fic from last year and I want to pass it off on someone :) 1.
sangueuk 26. Jim wants to go ice-skating. Bones falls through the ice. 1.
seanchaidh 27. 5 Christmases/holiday where Jim didn't get what he wanted, plus one Christmas when he got everything he could have ever wished for. 1.
ruric 2.
claudia_nic 28. 5 Christmases/holiday where Bones didn't get what he wanted, and one where he got everything he could have ever wished for. 1.
sullacat 2.
florahart 29. It's the first Christmas/holiday Jim and Leonard spend apart from each other ever since they met. They both soon realize that it pretty much sucks not to spend the holidays together. Cue some angsting and moping before the two of them pull their heads out of their cute little butts and get o wherever the other one is asap for a big schmoopy holiday reunion. (Friendship or more)
30. It's the first holiday season on the Enterprise and Jim wants to get a gift for each member of his beloved bridge crew. He drags Bones along on a shopping trip during shore leave, including some pretty heavy duty sales. 1.
canis_takahari 31. Kirk and McCoy were together, but have been fighting. Chapel (or whoever) manages to first rig the shipboard holiday gift exchange so they get each other, then engineer gossip that gets each to believe the other is going to try to outdo him for best/most thoughtful/most meaningful gift--and neither is going to let that happen because they are stubborn. Result: in order to outdo each other for thoughtfulness, each has to consider the other carefully and be, y'know thoughtful, which makes them want to be back together.
32. The Enterprise enters a region of space which sucks away light. Not a black hole, exactly; Scotty says they'll pass through in about 24 hours, if his readings (which the ship has to tell him aloud) and calculations (that he has to do in his head) are correct. Power and propulsion (and communications and basically everything else) work fine, but no lights of any kind--electrical, chemical, anything--will function. Kirk and McCoy find a way to celebrate this space-solstice together. 1.
lindmere 2.
awarrington 33. Jim & Bones spend the Terran holiday season on a tropical planet. Bones really wants a traditional Southern celebration, but you can't get good fruit cake that far out in space. Jim gets very creative.
FAMILY
34. Jim dresses up like Santa to surprise Bones and Joanna who are spending Christmas together;
35. Jim helps Joanna pick out a gift for her father. 1.
badwolf36 36. Jim helps Bones find the perfect Christmas present for Joanna ... while they're out in space.
37. Jim is Jewish through his mom. McCoy celebrates his first Hanukkah with the Kirks in Iowa. 1.
thistlerose 38. Jim sends a Xmas card to Jocelyn. Bones finds out.. 1.
pomme_noir 39. Visiting Sam on Deneva, where the quirks of planetary rotation and orbit mean that the end of the calendar year lands in different seasons each year. This year, it's early spring, and instead of snow there's a carpet of snowdrops (or local equivalent thereof) on the ground. It's pretty and fragrant and makes Jim want to be outdoors a lot. So they have an adventurous holiday period, take Sam's kids out hiking and suchlike, maybe even camping. Bones grumbles a lot, but really he loves having his feet on solid ground for an extended period--and seeing Jim with those kids is just the sweetest thing ever...
40. Jim encourages every national and religious group on the Enterprise to celebrate their own particular festivals and holidays. And he faithfully puts in an appearance at every party. The end of the Terran calendar year? He goes to a lot of parties, eats a lot of special food, drinks a lot of alcohol, and is thus forced to spend most of his non-working, non-partying time hungover and/or being grumbled at by Bones for over-indulging. It's still 100% awesome. 1.
lilbatfacedgirl 41. They're in the process of adopting and it goes through on December 23rd. BABY FOR CHRISTMAS!
1.
lauriegilbert 42. Jim is looking forward to the crew's first holiday season together as well as his and Bones' first as a couple. But it's a hard time for both Bones and Spock: Joanna is back on Earth, and this used to be Amanda's favorite season. So they're taking it out on each other (perhaps they're both on the decorating committee?) The bickering that normally amuses Jim escalates to the point where he loses his temper and blows up at them. With Uhura's help, they pull their heads out of their asses and join forces to pull off a great celebration.
43. Bones is trying to fulfill his family's holiday tradition of doing an anonymous good deed, but of course no good deed goes unpunished.
44. Joanna bringing her new boyfriend home to meet her fathers for the holiday season. Bones is maybe freaking out about it, while Jim is cool (or the other way around). 1.
theslashbunny 45. Bones takes Jim to Georgia for a McCoy family Christmas.
46. Jim & Bones are retired, and living on Earth. They spend the holidays with children, grandchildren, god children, and several dogs and other animals. It's total chaos. They wouldn't have it any other way. 1.
castofone 47. Bones is Santa.
47-A. Bones's elderly grandmother is utterly nonplussed to get a Christmas video-call from her dear little Leo in which he's on a beach wearing shorts and Jim's idly fanning them both with a palm frond while she's watching the snow come down all around her little house and hoping the power doesn't go out while the bird's still roasting--because that's what Christmas is all about, isn't it? Turns out for Bones, it's actually about spending time with the people you love, doesn't really matter where you are, how cold (or not) it is, or what's for dinner.
47-B. It's the end of the year on the Enterprise, and everyone's in a celebratory mood. Unfortunately, Jim has to settle an argument between several factions of crew--some of them are determined to spray fake snow all over the place and make everyone drink hot cocoa, some of them have only known a handful of cold Christmases/Hanukkahs/New Years in their lives (the years they spent at Starfleet Academy) and don't particularly enjoy the reminders, and another faction who find the disruption of ship-board activities a most illogical waste of resources, Captain, not to mention a distraction from the work people have signed on to perform. But, really, the extended (Enterprise) family arguing? Really not such a break with Christmas tradition as far as Jim's concerned. He tells Bones as much. Bones quizzes him about what such family gatherings were like for Jim as a boy. What he hears upsets him, and he decides to give Jim the perfect family Christmas experience, even if they are on a giant tin can hurtling through space light-years from home.
FUN TIMES!
48. The very first time Jim and Bones spend the holidays together, Bones sort of freaks out completely without warning and starts to bake manically. Pies, cookies, bread, etc. Jim tries to figure out what is driving such crazypants behaviour. 1.
writer_klmeri 2.
ebeforever 49. Cultural misunderstandings. Due to a limited knowledge of Earth history, some well-meaning alien representatives assume that all humans celebrate Christmas, and proceed to throw the landing party a Christmas celebration. (Level of taste / secular traditions / religious over- or undertones up to the writer.) Do Kirk and McCoy bite their lips and go along with it? Are they charmed? What about the rest of the away team? Is some attempt made to correct the misunderstanding?
50. One or both of the boys sang in his church choir before his voice dropped. There is reminiscing and possibly some singing. 1.
bandearg-rois 51. Kirk and McCoy have shore leave on Earth over the holidays, but after all those months in space, they want some SUN damnit. So they head for the southern hemisphere.
52. New Years, 2255. The boys are friendly, but they're not together yet. At a New Years party, Jim gets roofied, drinks to much, has a bad reaction to an alien drug. Not wanting Jim to get into trouble for partying too hard, Bones takes him back to his place and looks after him. Jim wakes up in Bones's bed, and 2256 is off to an excellent start. (Possible complication: Jim assumes that he and Bones had sex, even though he can't remember anything. Bones wonders why Jim is so flirty with him in the morning, and is possibly offended by the idea that he'd have sex with someone who's clearly under the influence. But it ends happily.) 1.
akuchan_47 53. Jim has a 'Make Bones Mine' advent calendar. (I.e., every day he implements a new, subtle plan.) 1.
siluria 54. A Christmas Carol-Trek style. Tell me you can't see Bones as Ebenezer? 1.
sternel 55. One or both of them are crap at expressing emotions so they end up sending letters in the form of a letter to Santa. 1.
horseheadnebula 56. Jim catches Bones playing Santa as in leaving presents for crew members he knows are not going to be able to be with loved ones. 1.
theslashbunny(#2) 2.
florahart(Art)
57. Bones is an excellent cook, and Jim just knows he'll do wonders with the local turkey-substitute. Only Bones refuses to "slave over a hot stove, damn it" in 30°C/86°F heat. Jim pouts.
58. All night New Year's Eve outdoor toga party!
59. Three words: Decorated. Christmas. Cactus.
(like this) 1.
witblogi 60. Somehow, Bones is bribed/threatened/cajoled into singing [holiday or not] songs and he has an amazing voice. This, of course, gets Jim hot. 1.
kinderjedi 2.
rotae 61. Jim is a Christmas elf who "works" for Santa delivering presents to his assigned quadrant. And every year he has a nice Christmas Eve conversation with Joanna who keeps wishing for the perfect gift for her papa (total Nice List behavior). As she gets older, Joanna realizes that the perfect gift for her daddy is someone to love and take care of him and Jim smitten with the other McCoy can't help but agree.
62. Jim wants to go ice-skating. Bones falls through the ice. Same prompt as #26.
63. Sledding on an ice planet (or icy part of a planet). Could lead to h/c if someone is injured, or snuggly happy times.
64. McCoy is literally Santa Claus, which turns out to create a bit of a schedule problem come Christmas.
65. Jim and McCoy beam down to Earth to spend Christmas in Iowa with Jim's family, however there is a transporter malfunction which de-ages McCoy. McCoy is now his six-year-old self, though he retains his memories. Jim is torn between mortified and amused, while McCoy is just pissed. They hang around for a day but the transporter is going to take longer to get fixed, so they go on ahead to Jim's home and wait for a call to come back. The longer McCoy stays in his child body, the more child-like he acts, and the two grow closer as McCoy becomes more and more dependent on Jim. Could be an established relationship or a first-time, or just a friendship fic. :) 1.
anutty1 66. In which they somehow end up going with Spock to visit Sarek on the new Vulcan colony world and realize that there were holiday traditions from Earth Amanda had incorporated, and Sarek and Spock won't either of them admit it, but they're feeling all woe-eye about the absence. Clearly it's time to introduce some Kirk-and-McCoy holiday traditions, even if they have to make them up on the spot, so it will break the tension. And naturally, then they're going to have to keep those traditions.
67. They get Joanna (age seven or so) for just four hours on Christmas Eve. The evening is highly imperfect, but Joanna has a lot of fun.
68. One winter at the Academy, McCoy has to (or chooses to) work over Christmas. Maybe because he has no one to go back home to, or because he hasn't been invited to anyone's party. Jim - who has no where to go either, or claims he doesn't - hangs around the hospital lobby, making sure his friend/boyfriend gets a little holiday cheer between patients. (Exact nature of "cheer" is up to the writer, of course.) 1.
heathenseyes 2.
witblogi 69. Ghosts of Christmases past, present and future come for a visit the year Jim turns forty (perhaps George, Kirk Prime, and post-Nexus Picard? I dunno), and stay for the New Year's party. Jim can't figure out how to even get rid of them, possibly ever, but they are damn well staying until he stops looking likely to die alone.
SAD FACE
70. Jim tells Bones about Christmas on Tarsus IV. 1.
camellie 71. The medical staff is trying to keep a mortally wounded redshirt alive until midnight, so his/her family won't have to remember Christmas as the day Daddy/Mommy died. 1.
gratchets 2.
sunriseinspace 72. There's nothing like good ol' hurt/comfort. It's Christmas, but Bones is sick or injured -- the type and severity is up to you, dear writer. Give me some jolly, jolly angst. (That is not an oxymoron!) 1.
mga1999 OTHER UNIVERSES/OTHER REALITIES
73. Every winter McCoy takes his wife and child up to their log cabin in the mountains to spend Christmas and New Years. Jim is a sprite/faerie/forest creature/whatever who stumbles across this tradition of cutting down a tree to bring inside, decorating the house with garland and shiny objects, and cooking lots of yummy-smelling foods. He takes to watching the family year after year, and develops a particular fondness for McCoy and the child. He eventually joins in by leaving presents of his own under the tree and around the house. The adults are confused as to where the extra presents come from; Joanna tells them it was Santa, of course.
Then one year only father and child return (maybe the divorce, maybe Jocelyn died, idk). Both go about the motions of Christmas preparations, but seem to lack the spirit. Jim sets about fixing this. Romance for Jim and McCoy . . . Or not. But preferable. :) 1.
sail_aweigh 2.
mutant_penguins 3. bandearg_rois (Art)
74. How about a good old-fashioned Christmas? Historical AU - you pick the time period. I want real candles in the tree instead of blinking lights, homemade presents, a fireplace that's more than just a lovely backdrop, etc. Kirk and McCoy are bachelors living together, each trying to make a life for themselves in these (those?) hard times. Neither has family so they celebrate Christmas together, exchanging presents and one traditional kiss under the mistletoe. Starts as a friendly thing, since kissing under the mistletoe is supposed to bring happiness and luck for the next year. When McCoy actually finds luck and begins courting a lady one winter, Kirk realizes just how much those kisses meant to him. Happy ending - but for who? McCoy and his lady, or McCoy and Jim? Hmm... 1.
bandearg_rois (#2)
75. Post-apocalyptic Christmas! Two survivors find each other during a particularly bad winter and decide to ban together in hopes of bettering their chances of making it through to the next spring. Jim insists on keeping the Christmas spirit alive, even when 98% of the population isn't. 1.
normalhumanbein; 2.
starsandgraces 76. Bones is spending his first holiday season as a divorcée. His hours at the hospital have been cut back so he's picked up a part-time job working closing and weekend shifts as a cashier at a mall. He's lonely and grumpy and that's when he meets Jim, who keeps coming through his cash (and ALWAYS makes sure he has Bones ringing him through). 1.
withthepilot 2.
pearlstar178 77. Retell The Gift of the Magi. 1.
wook77 78. Jim and Bones both have demanding jobs that keep them apart on a regular basis. They make each other a promise that they'll be home together for the holidays. When things suddenly pile up, one or both of them suddenly have to race and beat the odds to make it home in time.
79. Jim is homeless this holiday season and gets hurt. Len is the doctor who fixes him up and somehow is convinced to bring Jim home for the holidays. 1.
kisa9 SONG FICS!
80. The lamp is burnin' low upon my table top
The snow is softly falling
The air is still within the silence of my room
I hear your voice softly calling
If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
The smoke is rising in the shadows overhead
My glass is almost empty
I read again between the lines upon each page
The words of love you sent me
If I could know within my heart
That you were lonely too
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
The fire is dying now, my lamp is growing dim
The shades of night are liftin'
The morning light steals across my windowpane
Where webs of snow are driftin'
If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
And to be once again with you
Gordon Lightfoot's
Song for a winter's night *~*
81. I’ll have a blue Christmas without you
I’ll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won’t be the same dear, if you’re not here with me
And when the blue snowflakes start falling
That’s when those blue memories start calling
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue Christmas
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas
*~*
82. I don't want a brand new toy
But if you can hear
I just need a little joy
For Christmas this year
Feels like something's missing
Like my heart's not in this thing
Are you listening
Cause if you're listening
Take me back to when
It really meant something
-Garrison Starr, "Christmas This Year"
*~*
83. It's the season of grace coming out of the void
Where man is saved by a voice from the distance
It's the season of possible miracle cures
Where hope is currency and death is not the last unknown
Where time begins to fade
And age is welcome home
It's the season of eyes meeting over the noise
And holding fast with sharp realization
It's the season of cold making warmth a divine intervention
You are safe here now
It's the season of scars and of wounds in the heart
Of feeling the full weight of our burdens
It's the season of bowing our heads in the wind
And knowing we are not alone in fear
Not alone in the dark
Don't forget
Don't forget
I love
I love
I love you
-Vienna Teng, "The Atheist's Christmas Carol"

84. I walked down the dirt road to church
It was simple then
Together on Christmas we prayed
It was simple then
With a candle in my hand
I heard my Daddy singing
In church I wasn't alone
It was simple then
"It Was Simple Then" (from Big Tent)

85. ...and a slightly more traditional carol:
In the bleak midwinter frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow
Snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter, long long ago
What then can I give him, empty as I am?
If I were a shepard, I would bring a lamb
If I were a Wise Man I would know my part
What then can I give him?
I must give my heart.
-In The Bleak Midwinter
