Hmm... Perhaps they're gathering in the desert to try to use the sandstorms to disrupt radar tracking?

I would assume that would prove no problem for your mech though?

But it doesn't really help them, since sandstorms aren't happening 24/7. And unless they have ground-breaking technology then their radar tracking would be disrupted as well.

Sandrock has an easier time than most in the desert, but it's radar is still affected by sandstorms just like everyone else.

Is there anything in this desert that they might be after?

Not that I can think of. But it's obviously a trap for someone. The question is, what are they planning on doing once someone finally does take it?
