2012 Space_Wrapped Prompt Claiming is Now Open!

Oct 05, 2012 01:22

It's finally here! The Space Wrapped Prompt Store is OPEN!!!

Now, I have played fast and loose with the "groupings". You can interpret the prompts in any way possible. If your SAD TIMES prompt spawns a cracky story, go where ever your Muse takes you. Friendship, shy first fumblings towards a relationship, established, sexy, not sexy, old men or young -- your ONLY requirement is to write Jim & Bones together.

So, read through the prompts, claim your 1st, 2nd & 3rd choices in a comment, and we'll let you know which one you can have. Feel free to start writing as soon as you get your confirmation from us.

Yes, we will allow multiple claims (up to 2 per prompt, especially if one is for ART). There are 148 (Wow! Great job!) prompts, and over 250 members, so there should be lots of variety and opportunity for everyone to get the prompt they want.

If nothing here lights a fire in your soul, make one up! Just let us know in a comment what it is.

Remember you can only be granted one prompt to fill at this time. We will open up claims for a second fill in a few weeks, but we want to give everyone time to get their first prompt before we do.

On October 19th, we will close all prompt claiming--and effectively close the fest to new participants. Then, you will be able to claim a date for posting. Just remember that this year there are only twelve posting days, so there will be a lot of other fic on the same day.

Any questions? Direct them to spacewrapped@gmail.com

SEXY TIEMS

1. ART Prompt: SInce you said the prompt could include artwork...I'd love to see the aforementioned Bones and Jim, naked except for santa hats, kissing under the mistletoe. CLAIMED BY: romanse1

2. Jim shows McCoy that sex in a sleigh is A. cold, B. not all that private, and C. surprisingly good fun.

3. Jim makes obscene balls to hang on the community fake tree. McCoy rolls his eyes....and then makes obscene candy canes.

4. Pike hosts a Christmas thing and somehow thinks Jim and Leonard haven't gotten together yet and lectures them on how they need each other and not to take things for granted and stuff. Little does he know they're just being discreet, and also that if he's going to be Mr. Nosy, they're just going to have to implement the Invite Chris Into Our Bed plan all the sooner.

5. Academy era: Jim brings Bones home for the holidays. Bones is not happy with all the damned white stuff falling from the sky. Jim shows him exactly how fun snow can be. *wiggles eyebrows*

6. Gaila thinks the winter holidays are the best human invention ever. Santa help her two unsuspecting boyfriends, Jim and Bones.

7. For the 12 days of Christmas, Jim and Bones decide to try a different new kink every day. Some are more successful than others.

8. McCoy keeps threatening Jim with a Lump of Coal for being naughty...Jim takes it as a challenge.

9. *** intentionally left blank ***

10. *** intentionally left blank ***

11. McCoy: my favorite holiday item? Yule log. Stick that heats up and goes all night.
Jim: O Bones!
McCoy: That's one word for it.

12. Existing relationship: Jim thinks they should do a sex advent calendar. A different sex act or position each day up to Christmas. McCoy's a little worried about Jim's creative brain being put to use in this fashion, but like he's going to turn down a lot of sex. CLAIMED BY: sullacat

13. Someone somewhere is throwing a Christmas orgy and Jim wrangles an invitation.

14. While decorating for the Enterprise's Winter Festival, McCoy discovers a previously unknown kink. (Bondage, Voyeurism, Exhibitionism, Cosplay...) Jim is more than happy to help him explore. CLAIMED BY: kinderjedi

SWEET COUPLE-Y

15. Jim and Bones are trapped on an abandoned ice-bound planet, with only the comfort of their own body heat, a few blankets and the fire to keep them warm. They're not rescued until after Christmas Day.

16. Jim asks Leonard what he wants for Christmas. Leonard says how 'bout you refrain from doing anything completely idiotic and non-regulation that lands you in my sickbay and makes me worry for a month? Jim does his very best, but he's still in there like once a week. Which is okay because Leonard misses him, damn it. CLAIMED BY: lady_katana4544

17. Jim brings something that looks like mistletoe up and hangs it for smooching, but alas, it's completely poisonous (or, you know, itchy-making). Jim being Jim doesn't mention his symptoms until the stupid thing has shed pollen/sap/whatever on both of them, and they end up being miserable in bed (together or not) for the holiday. But then there is a happy ending. CLAIMED BY: mahmfic

18. After the Enterprise suffers a nasty attack (Klingons, Romulans, etc.), losing a large number of crew members (I've heard somewhere that the Reboot Enterprise has a crew complement of 1000, so let's say that they lost 150 to 200 people in the attack), Jim decides to improve crew morale by holding a secret santa. Only thing is, according to the Terran calendar, it's almost Midsummer's Day. But Jim's not going to let that little fact get in his way. Jim, of course, gets Spock (perhaps he turns to Uhura for help?), instead of getting his Bones. The doctor, on the other hand, isn't telling a single soul who he got (but of course, it's Jim).

19. 12 Days of Christmas. Jim sends Bones a partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, etc...in plushie form. Cue bitching and secretly loving it and 'how the hell did you even afford all this?' on Bones' part.

20. Bones tells Jim about a treasured possession (a childhood toy, for example, although it can be anything you want) that he had but lost. Cue Jim going through hell and high water to find him a replacement in time for Christmas. CLAIMED BY: anon_be_done

21. Jim and Bones spend a holiday week in a cabin - nothing but domestic bliss CLAIMED BY: abigail89

22. Jim's having trouble figuring out the perfect gift for Bones.

23. Jim Kirk has never had a good Christmas and doesn't expect to ever.

24. The crew conspire to get Jim and Bones under the mistletoe.

25. Jim avoids holiday parties. Bones wants to know why.

26. Pagan Winter Solstice celebrations are often about the returning of the Light. Space is (disease and danger wrapped in) darkness (and silence). Either Jim or Bones comes from a tradition who treat Winter Solstice as a day to mourn the passing of the Dark, before celebrating the coming of the Light.

27. *** intentionally left blank ***

28. Jim, as captain, has to attend/preside over the various holiday dinners and celebrations of the diverse crew of the Enterprise. He drags Bones along to all of them, only to be surprised at how much a " simple country doctor from Georgia" knows about Diwali, Eid (I'm not going to calculate it, but it could be in December that year), Winter Solstice, Chinese New Year, and/or your holiday of choice (Andorian, maybe? :D )

29. The Enterprise was scheduled for shore leave on Earth during the holiday season, but another ship's engine problems force them to cover a patrol on the Federation's distant, desolate border instead. How does Jim keep morale up, both in general and for a particularly surly Bones who was looking forward to getting out of space for a bit?

30. Jim & Bones (and anyone else you'd like) end up on modern day Earth a few days before Christmas due to an ion storm/transporter screw-up/temporal disturbances a la the Guardian of Forever. They're working on getting back and trying to blend in as best they can, but the way the holidays are celebrated has changed a lot in the past 250 years. CLAIMED BY: akainagi

31. Hanukkah-themed story: They're stranded on a planet, but they have something life-sustaining that's meant to last only one day, but somehow lasts for eight days, just in time for them to get rescued.

32. Amanda Grayson celebrated Hanukkah. To honor her, and to do something nice for Spock, Uhura gets together with Kirk/McCoy - since the two couples are good friends by now - and plan a quiet, thoughtful celebration in her memory.

33. TOS prompt! Kirk and McCoy observe Christmas or Hanukkah (your choice) with Kirk's orphaned nephew Peter. (Following Sam and Aurelan's deaths in "Operation: Annihilate!")

34. PLANET CHRISTMAS: The Enterprise visits a planet where they're celebrating a winter festival remarkably like Christmas (perhaps with a few tweaks here and there), and it's snow/presents/cheer/mistletoe/candy canes/fat man alien in a red suit EVERYWHERE. The whole thing predictably turns Bones into a total Scrooge...until he realizes how delighted Jim is.

35. It's the first Christmas/holiday Jim and Leonard spend apart from each other ever since they met. They both soon realize that it pretty much sucks not to spend the holidays together. Cue some angsting and moping before the two of them pull their heads out of their cute little butts and get to wherever the other one is asap for a big schmoopy holiday reunion. (Friendship or more)

36. Kirk and McCoy were together, but have been fighting. Chapel (or whoever) manages to first rig the shipboard holiday gift exchange so they get each other, then engineer gossip that gets each to believe the other is going to try to outdo him for best/most thoughtful/most meaningful gift--and neither is going to let that happen because they are stubborn. Result: in order to outdo each other for thoughtfulness, each has to consider the other carefully and be, y'know thoughtful, which makes them want to be back together.

37. Jim & Bones spend the Terran holiday season on a tropical planet. Bones really wants a traditional Southern celebration, but you can't get good fruit cake that far out in space. Jim gets very creative.

38. Years and years from now, when they're adorable old admirals who've been married forever,at a christmas party, a (great?) grandchild asks them how they tied the knot. This leads to fond reminiscing, as well as good-natured bickering about how the whole thing really went down because, come on, it's been like eighty years or whatever, and they both remember it differently.

39. They accidentally go public with their relationship at Enterprise's holiday pageant, like David and Natalie in Love Actually. Maybe some angry sap inspired by The Pogues' Fairytale of New York? Or, failing that, evil Christmas trees?

40. Five year mission fic: It's the first holiday Jim and Bones will spend as a couple and Jim is determined to make it super special. Bones shows him it's not all about decorations and gifts.

41. An unexpected holiday gift makes Bones realize he's in love with Jim. CLAIMED BY: twisurfgrl

42. Jim's determined to learn how to cook in time for the Xmas dinner, it's just that he didn't expect that he would be this bad at it. Bones, as it turns out, is a good teacher.

43. Jim has shared his New Years kisses with a lot of people over the years, this year, and every year onwards, he intends it to be with Bones. He just has to find him before Midnight. CLAIMED BY: cookiechris80

FAMILY

44. Jim wants to cook Bones a traditional holiday meal, with all his favorites, on the Enterprise. So Jim comms Granny McCoy and gets as many of the old recipes as possible, but it's not getting the recipes that's the problem it's finding the ingredients in space. Jim's not sure it can be called pecan pie with almost pecans.

45. It's Joanna's first Christmas home after leaving for college and while she's unfortunately used to finding Jim and her father in compromising positions, she has forgotten how often it can happen, especially with all the holiday mistletoe. CLAIMED BY: treksnoopy

46. Jim arranges for Joanna to be able to comm her father for a longer period of time on Christmas day.

47. So, after they saved the whole planet, there were seriously thousands of invitations to ravish all manner of people. Leonard's a doctor and Jim's no idiot, so it's not like they weren't careful in their joyful celebrating all over creation, but still, a year and a bit later, each of them finds himself with one or more heretofore unknown offspring (preferably without this being about the mothers of these offspring being stupid, bitchy, manipulative, etc; just, they have babies, and what the hell are they going to do with babies on a damn starship?!) So they join forces and in the process figure out that they want to raise their kids together for real. tl;dr: Brady Bunch on the Enterprise.

48. In which they somehow end up going with Spock to visit Sarek on the new Vulcan colony world and realize that there were holiday traditions from Earth Amanda had incorporated, and Sarek and Spock won't either of them admit it, but they're feeling all woe-eye about the absence. Clearly it's time to introduce some Kirk-and-McCoy holiday traditions, even if they have to make them up on the spot, so it will break the tension. And naturally, then they're going to have to keep those traditions.

49. They get Joanna (age seven or so) for just four hours on Christmas Eve. The evening is highly imperfect, but Joanna has a lot of fun.

50. Kinda AU Jo asks Santa to take her to her Daddy. Jim and Bones are VERY surprised (and kinda frantic) when they wake up Christmas Eve to Jo bouncing on them to wake them up. Panic and hilarity ensue as they scramble to A.) make a Christmas that is good enough for her and B.) get her home cause Bones is pretty sure Jocelyn is going to flip her lid when he breaks the news to her.

51. Jim/Bones, established relationship. Bones has Joanna over Christmas. Jim invites Jocelyn - for Joanna - behind Bones' back because he knows how much Christmas sucks if the other parent is missing.

52. Bones wants to propose to Jim on New Year's, but hold on, turns out there are several people he has to ask for permission first. What the hell?

53. Jocelyn brings Jo onto the Enterprise for the holidays. Jim wonders what this could mean. No bitchy!Jocelyn please.

54. Bones celebrates Yule (a nonreligious winter holiday by then) by feeding his loved ones. But his loved ones on the Enterprise are picky eaters - Spock's vegetarianism and Jim's allergies and Chapel's distaste for anything green... How does Bones demonstrate his appreciation for all the nourishing relationships he has without losing his crusty exterior? (Bones isn't secretly a marshmallow - he is just both grumpy AND sweet.) Hot holiday porn w Jim is always welcome, first time or established relationship.

55. Bones is greatly amused by the lengths Jim will go to to make a great first impression on Joanna at Christmas.

56. Jim dresses up like Santa to surprise Bones and Joanna who are spending Christmas together.

57. Jim helps Bones find the perfect Christmas present for Joanna ... while they're out in space.

58. Visiting Sam on Deneva, where the quirks of planetary rotation and orbit mean that the end of the calendar year lands in different seasons each year. This year, it's early spring, and instead of snow there's a carpet of snowdrops (or local equivalent thereof) on the ground. It's pretty and fragrant and makes Jim want to be outdoors a lot. So they have an adventurous holiday period, take Sam's kids out hiking and suchlike, maybe even camping. Bones grumbles a lot, but really he loves having his feet on solid ground for an extended period--and seeing Jim with those kids is just the sweetest thing ever...

59. Jim is looking forward to the crew's first holiday season together as well as his and Bones' first as a couple. But it's a hard time for both Bones and Spock: Joanna is back on Earth, and this used to be Amanda's favorite season. So they're taking it out on each other (perhaps they're both on the decorating committee?) The bickering that normally amuses Jim escalates to the point where he loses his temper and blows up at them. With Uhura's help, they pull their heads out of their asses and join forces to pull off a great celebration.

60. Bones is trying to fulfill his family's holiday tradition of doing an anonymous good deed, but of course no good deed goes unpunished.

61. Joanna bringing her new boyfriend home to meet her fathers for the holiday season. Bones is maybe freaking out about it, while Jim is cool (or the other way around).

62. Bones takes Jim to Georgia for a McCoy family Christmas. CLAIMED BY: caera1996

63. Bones's elderly grandmother is utterly nonplussed to get a Christmas video-call from her dear little Leo in which he's on a beach wearing shorts and Jim's idly fanning them both with a palm frond while she's watching the snow come down all around her little house and hoping the power doesn't go out while the bird's still roasting--because that's what Christmas is all about, isn't it? Turns out for Bones, it's actually about spending time with the people you love, doesn't really matter where you are, how cold (or not) it is, or what's for dinner.

64. It's the end of the year on the Enterprise, and everyone's in a celebratory mood. Unfortunately, Jim has to settle an argument between several factions of crew--some of them are determined to spray fake snow all over the place and make everyone drink hot cocoa, some of them have only known a handful of cold Christmases/Hanukkahs/New Years in their lives (the years they spent at Starfleet Academy) and don't particularly enjoy the reminders, and another faction who find the disruption of ship-board activities a most illogical waste of resources, Captain, not to mention a distraction from the work people have signed on to perform. But, really, the extended (Enterprise) family arguing? Really not such a break with Christmas tradition as far as Jim's concerned. He tells Bones as much. Bones quizzes him about what such family gatherings were like for Jim as a boy. What he hears upsets him, and he decides to give Jim the perfect family Christmas experience, even if they are on a giant tin can hurtling through space light-years from home.

65. Jim starts listening to "Last Christmas" on repeat, like in Mid-November, and it drives Bones crazy. Maybe he starts listening to his own (Jazz? Classical Rock? idk, run wild with this) christmas music in order to annoy Jim? Maybe they end up finding a Christmas song they both like, maybe they don't. I see this academy-era but it doesn't matter, really.

66. Jim accompanies Bones on a Christmas trip to Georgia, despite being anti-Christmas and Bah Humbug. On Christmas Eve Bones' old school does the Hallelujah chorus, and all choir alumni are invited to join in and sing. Bones does this every year, and it means a lot to him, but Jim doesn't want to join him.

67. McCoy got preggers (How : planned? surprise? established relationship? or first time?) Possessive!proud!happy!Captain. they decide to do a low key marriage alone before they tell anyone else (someone outside of the bridge crew (Pike?) marries them by outside ship communication). McCoy continues working till the end (and wobbling in the Sickbay). Bonus point if he gets sick from seeing some patients/diseases. Protest from being banned from surgeries (toward the end because it's too tiring/stressful). Confrontation with McCoy ex "you got knocked up?" at the McCoy Xmas dinner.

68. *** intentionally left blank ***

69. Academy Fic: First time Bones will spend holidays without his daughter. Or will he? Jim provides a lil' Christmas miracle.

70. Jim's life has always been a series of Before's and After's. Before Sam. After Tarsus. Before the Academy. After Vulcan. In search of at least one constant, Jim tries out the old adage if you love something, set it free, in hopes that Bones will come back to him. But as the New Year approaches, the plan may backfire on him.

71. Contrary to his tendency toward revisionist history, McCoy was completely in love with Jocelyn. His father's death started the downward spiral that lead to divorce, 'hating' her, and breaking up their little family. Given the chance to see what could've happened had David McCoy lived, will he choose his family over his new life?

72. Angst: Holiday plans suddenly change when McCoy loses someone close to him back home. Jim is there to help him through it.

FUN TIMES

73. Jim and Bones aim for a Christmas wedding! Of course, everything that conceivably could go wrong, does go wrong. There’s a mix-up with the food, typo’s in the wedding invites, a misunderstanding with the required clothing, the priest gets drunk then kidnapped etc etc. After many trials and tribulations, Jim and Bones are finally, successfully married.

74. Academy Era - Jim decides to throw a Christmas party for Bones, but, of course, things don’t go as planned, initially.

75. Someone bakes all sorts of naughty cookies during the holidays. Jim is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery. Bones is just as adamant that he doesn't find out.

76. Someone hijacks the comm system and blasts obnoxious holiday music around the ship. Bones is... less than pleased. Jim finds his reactions hilarious.

77. Mistletoe shenanigans! CLAIMED AS ART BY: norfolkdumpling

78. Winter is nature's way of saying, "Up yours."

79. Bones is actually the one that loves Christmas and Jim is the one that hates it.

80. Somebody is playing Secret Santa for Spock, who is passing his first Christmas since his mother's death. News has gotten around the ship and the entire crew is watching every day to see what the next surprise is. Nobody seems to know who's behind this -- except the Captain, and he's not telling. (He's not stupid; Bones would kick him out of bed if he snitched. He might even be helping. Shhhh.) CLAIMED BY: sternel

81. When you live in a tiny cubicle of a cabin, and your partner's cubicle is only slightly larger, where do you hide the gifts? A certain amount of ...creativity is called for...CLAIMED BY: kototyph

82. James Kirk, reprobate and occasional inebriate, just happens to know the words to every Christmas song in existence. Even the obnoxious ones. And will sing them to anyone in range -- in key, even. The real Christmas miracle? Would be if someone could get him to shut up. CLAIMED BY: moonlitfog

83. *** intentionally left blank ***

84. Cultural misunderstandings. Due to a limited knowledge of Earth history, some well-meaning alien representatives assume that all humans celebrate Christmas, and proceed to throw the landing party a Christmas celebration. (Level of taste / secular traditions / religious over- or undertones up to the writer.) Do Kirk and McCoy bite their lips and go along with it? Are they charmed? What about the rest of the away team? Is some attempt made to correct the misunderstanding?

85. Kirk and McCoy have shore leave on Earth over the holidays, but after all those months in space, they want some SUN damnit. So they head for the southern hemisphere.

86. Bones is an excellent cook, and Jim just knows he'll do wonders with the local turkey-substitute. Only Bones refuses to "slave over a hot stove, damn it" in 30°C/86°F heat. Jim pouts.

87. All night New Year's Eve outdoor toga party!

88. Jim is a Christmas elf who "works" for Santa delivering presents to his assigned quadrant. And every year he has a nice Christmas Eve conversation with Joanna who keeps wishing for the perfect gift for her papa (total Nice List behavior). As she gets older, Joanna realizes that the perfect gift for her daddy is someone to love and take care of him and Jim smitten with the other McCoy can't help but agree. CLAIMED BY: handwithquill

89. Sledding on an ice planet (or icy part of a planet). Could lead to h/c if someone is injured, or snuggly happy times.

90. McCoy is literally Santa Claus, which turns out to create a bit of a schedule problem come Christmas.

91. *** intentionally left blank ***

92. Jim and McCoy beam down to Earth to spend Christmas in Iowa with Jim's family, however there is a transporter malfunction which de-ages McCoy. McCoy is now his six-year-old self, though he retains his memories. Jim is torn between mortified and amused, while McCoy is just pissed. They hang around for a day but the transporter is going to take longer to get fixed, so they go on ahead to Jim's home and wait for a call to come back. The longer McCoy stays in his child body, the more child-like he acts, and the two grow closer as McCoy becomes more and more dependent on Jim. Could be an established relationship or a first-time, or just a friendship fic.

93. *** intentionally left blank ***

94. Obligatory non-denominational holiday party aboard the Enterprise.

95. The Enterprise All-Holiday Year-End Festival

96. Finding what seems like the perfect present until it activates and attaches to the ship's computer/comes to life and tries to eat a yeoman/is otherwise disastrous.

97. *** intentionally left blank ***

98. Jim's in jail on Christmas Eve. Does Bones bail him out? Could be academy fic, future fic or complete AU. CLAIMED BY: writer_klmeri

99. There are ways in which Jim is just like everyone else, so much so that it's easy to overlook one or two of his stranger quirks. But this Christmas, Bones discovers it's more than just a quirk and that Jim really isn't like everybody else at all. (Anything from Crack to Fantasy to Dark and Angsty) CLAIMED BY: alaria

SAD FACE

100. The 12 Days of Christmas that Bones is missing, and how Jim manages to find him.

101. Bones gets hurt on an away mission, one that Jim doesn't go on for some reason. Unfortunately, for some reason or other, the away team is stuck on the planet and the Enterprise can't send down anyone else until Scotty, Spock, and Chekov figure out a way around the problem--which they estimate to take several days. Also, it's Christmas Eve, the first one Bones and Jim have spent (physically *hint, hint*) apart since they first met on that shuttle.

102. Bones, being a maladjusted yet completely functional asocial medical genius, can't just come out and say what he really wants. But he's got some interesting ways to get his point across. Jim, with years of Bones-watching behind him, eventually gets the idea.

103. Jim's looking forward to Xmas, planning parties and celebrations. Bones wants a quiet holiday, just the two of them where he can remember those he's lost and just be with Jim. So while Jim's getting more excited, Bones is withdrawing.

104. Jim is cranky, morose, and has a hair-trigger temper starting in the beginning of December, and Bones has no idea why. (And neither do I!) Being the smart cookie he is, Bones figures it out. He can't fix it, but he can help Jim out, either as a friend or something more (you decide).

AUs

105. AU: Jim is traveling around and takes a job as a mall Santa; this is where he first encounters Joanna McCoy, where all she asks for Christmas is someone for her dad, Dr. Leonard McCoy. CLAIMED BY: sperrywink

106. AU: Jim is a baker who gets really busy during holiday season, but he still has time to flirt with his favorite customer, Bones (with cute "Bones" inspired gingerbread cookies).

107. AU: Jim works in a pizza parlor in the mall and can’t help but flirt with one of the customers, Bones. Bones is oblivious at first, or so Jim thinks, but there’s a reason why Bones spends so much time at the parlor and it’s certainly not for the pizza. Jim, although flirty, is too shy of rejection, so is surprised when Bones asks him round his house for the requisite McCoy family Christmas party. Jim accepts and discovers that Bones likes him more than he actually likes pizza!

108. AU: Jimmy hates going caroling almost as much as he hates being called "Jimmy"; it's especially bad now that they are in a new town in Georgia - where it isn't even cold now that it's Christmas time. Jim just knows that he's going to get it at school when everyone learns that he does holiday caroling. Although, maybe it won't be so bad, really hot Senior Leonard McCoy seems to also be being forced to carol this year.

109. AU: Leonard hates staffing the emergency room during the holiday season; if it's not stupid people falling from ladders while hanging lights or pretending to be Santa on the roof, it's someone slicing open their hand trying the carve the family goose. When the whole Kirk family comes in with acute food poisoning, Leonard knows it's bad form to flirt with one Mr. Jim Kirk over an emesis basin, but he can't help it. CLAIMED BY: kel_1970

110. AU: Jim and Bones are misfit toys, hoping/wishing to go together to a nice family with children who will love and play with them. CLAIMED BY: sangueuk

111. AU: Jim is a doll maker who Bones goes to to get a custom made doll for Joanna for Christmas; Jim can't help but want to learn more about the sweet man who seems to love his daughter so much.

112. McCoy used to be literally Santa. He was on the shuttle in the first place because when Jocelyn got the whole damn planet that included getting him fired from the Santa gig. But he misses it. CLAIMED BY: backrose_17

113. AU: in which Jim is a snowboarding champ stuck at the lodge with a knee injury, and McCoy is there on a Christmas ski vacation with his daughter.

114. AU: Jim Kirk, reclusive physicist. Leonard McCoy, frustrated artist who makes his living illustrating textbooks and stuff. Together, they fight crime put on a hell of a show at the mall for kids that don't have much.

115. Lawyer AU: Jim is the hotshot lawyer in Manhattan's best law firm, Bones is the grouchy doctor that gets dragged to the firm’s Christmas party by ex-wife Jocelyn because Clay is off at a conference and his ex still has the ability to get him to do exactly what she wants. Cue kisses under the Mistletoe and slow dancing. CLAIMED BY: weepingnaiad

116. DJ AU: Bones is a radio DJ, Jim is his celebrity boyfriend/crush who sends in suggestive emails/texts every week, something that only gets worse at Christmas, when he moves onto sending in bad poetry and even more awful stick figures. Bonus if the rest of the crew are involved in finally getting them together

117. Rockstar AU: Jim and Bones used to date, way back when. Then Bones left to become a huge rockstar. Unable to forget about Jim, he sings "I'll be Home for Christmas" and Jim recognizes his voice on the radio. Then schmoop of some sort occurs.

118. AU: Bones is a mall santa, Jim is his husband/"elfin assistant". Bones also does not like bringing his work home with him ("Dammit, Jim, I'm not going to be your 'Sex Santa'!").

119. AU: Jim and Bones meet as two lonely men in a bar on Christmas Eve. CLAIMED BY: umbrellas_can

120. *** intentionally left blank ***

121. AU: Jim and Bones both have demanding jobs that keep them apart on a regular basis. They make each other a promise that they'll be home together for the holidays. When things suddenly pile up, one or both of them suddenly have to race and beat the odds to make it home in time.

122. Baker!AU. Holiday times are super busy for any bakery, but especially Leonard's favorite little hole in the wall cafe/bakery. It makes wooing the hot, blond baker inside a little tougher, but considering all the classic books in the cafe's bookcases, he thinks he's got a start on what to get for a Christmas present.

123. AU-prompt. Jim and Leonard are single parents both waiting in line for their kids to see Santa. Bones is grumbling under his breath about all the possible germs and dangers of so many kids in one confined area sitting on a strange man's lap. Cue Jim being amused and reassuring (he brought his kid and totes loves Santa). They hit it off and begin flirting. Meanwhile Jim's kid is all "Your dad is weird." and Joanna is like "Yeah, but so is yours." and becoming bff's! CLAIMED BY: puresmiles

124. AU: One of them is the mayor of a small town who decides to cancel the annual holiday parade, due to economic woes. The other one is a concerned dad who fights to get the parade back on track.

125. Could be AU, could be regular-verse. Just want Leonard McCoy hating life and thinking that he has nothing left to live for, until an Angel (Jim, maybe?) shows him what the world would be like if he had never been born. Basically, use “It’s a Wonderful Life” as inspiration for a Jim and Bones HEA.

126. How about a good old-fashioned Christmas? Historical AU - you pick the time period. I want real candles in the tree instead of blinking lights, homemade presents, a fireplace that's more than just a lovely backdrop, etc. Kirk and McCoy are bachelors living together, each trying to make a life for themselves in these (those?) hard times. Neither has family so they celebrate Christmas together, exchanging presents and one traditional kiss under the mistletoe. Starts as a friendly thing, since kissing under the mistletoe is supposed to bring happiness and luck for the next year. When McCoy actually finds luck and begins courting a lady one winter, Kirk realizes just how much those kisses meant to him. Happy ending - but for who? McCoy and his lady, or McCoy and Jim? Hmm...

127. Earth!AU - Jim is kinda homeless over the holidays, Bones is too nice to let him freeze outside without offering him a place to stay (especially after Jim comes into the clinic sort of beat to hell). Jim spends the holidays with Bones and Joanna, totally falling for the grumpy doc.

128. AU: Kirk is a ghost, old and lonely and violent in his misery, until one winter bachelor and/or single father Leonard McCoy purchases Kirk's land and fixer-upper starter home and begins filling it will festive cheer. Spook-tacular Christmas? CLAIMED BY: brynnh87

129. AU: Dr. McCoy lost his young daughter on Christmas Day and ever since then the holiday sparks something less than yuletide cheer in his heart. When a Mr. Jim Kirk rushes his son David into the ER one Christmas Eve McCoy wonders if history is going to repeat itself.

130. AU: McCoy has recently relocated to the Big Apple, and even surrounded by millions of people the breathtaking skyline view from his penthouse apartment leaves him feeling empty and alone. Fortunately the apartment's doorman, Jim Kirk, is a chatty sunovabitch and does his part to make McCoy's first big city Christmas a little more homey.

131. AU: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. Bones knows for a fact that Jim is insane, but it doesn't really stop him from falling in love with the crazy bastard. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

132. AU: Baker Leonard McCoy gets pretty annoyed working at his bakery come Christmas time. After all, do you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to make buttercream a nice red without making it taste like shit? Then he has to decorate a million Santa hat cookies and he is not even touching the abomination others call fruitcake, no matter how much his baking assistant Gaila begs him to put his Southern baking magical touch to it.
And then Jim Kirk saunters in, orders a coffee and a cookie and proceeds to eat his gingerbread man in the most suggestive way he can. Every. Single. Day.
Either Leonard is going to crack or a few eggs are.

133. AU: Bones is a homesteader in Kansas, late 1800s. Jim is a railroad engineer. Storms and blizzards have closed the railroad since before Christmas. Does Jim make it back in time to exchange presents? Or do they have to save all that UST until the tracks are cleared in Spring?

134. Fantasy AU. Princess Jim is going to be sacrificed to the volcano on Winter Solstice. Can Bones find a loophole in the ritual before his (secret) boyfriend goes over the edge?

CROSSOVERS

136. Doom Xover:
Kirk somehow discovered the truth about Bones before they even got together. That's the main reason he decided to call him Bones all the time (to not slip and call him John).
They slowly get into a relationship over time. When Kirk becomes Captain they realize that what they have together is the real deal, and that Jim is prepared to go away with Bones when he will no longer be able to hide the fact that he doesn't age (hey, he was starved for affection as a child). Jim says that he wants to stay with Bones as long as possible but laughingly says that he will leave when people take him for Bones's father at family reunions.
They discuss it and decide to go search for a C-24 vial (perfect Xmas gift) and destroy the Olduvia dig. Busy Xmas shore time in sight.
If the person who writes that feels up to the challenge he can even write what's going to happen next (marriage...) and how they are going to hide their secret then escape from Starfleet.

137. A Star Trek version of the WWI 1914 Christmas Eve Truce, except with Starfleet guys, and maybe Klingons and Romulans or something instead of Scottish, French, and German. But Klingons and Romulans don't celebrate Christmas, so I'm not sure why they'd care. But it would be kind of sweet.

138. "It's a Wonderful Life" fic! It can be set anywhere you want: 1940s like the film, modern day, etc. All that is required is slice-of-life type stuff telling the story of one of the boys from childhood and then something going really bad on christmas eve (it doesn't have to be money, it can be anything) and one of the boys getting a visit from their guardian angel (SPOCK? LOL) and finding out that IT REALLY IS A WONDERFUL LIFE. (I have not explained it well, but i'm sure most everyone has seen the movie!) You decide who gets to be uncle billy, potter, etc. SUPER BONUS POINTS if joanna is zuzu and has a flower.

139. Some kind of fusion with Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen"

140. A Christmas Carol with Bones as Scrooge.

141. And the night will come but I won't sleep
as I watch the stars that lead him
I cannot place where he is
but still my heart goes with him
And the last words I heard him say were
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
(Lyrics from Dido's "Christmas Day")

142. I don't want a brand new toy
But if you can hear
I just need a little joy
For Christmas this year

Feels like something's missing
Like my heart's not in this thing
Are you listening
Cause if you're listening

Take me back to when
It really meant something
-Garrison Starr, "Christmas This Year"

143. It's the season of grace coming out of the void
Where man is saved by a voice from the distance
It's the season of possible miracle cures
Where hope is currency and death is not the last unknown
Where time begins to fade
And age is welcome home

It's the season of eyes meeting over the noise
And holding fast with sharp realization
It's the season of cold making warmth a divine intervention
You are safe here now

It's the season of scars and of wounds in the heart
Of feeling the full weight of our burdens
It's the season of bowing our heads in the wind
And knowing we are not alone in fear
Not alone in the dark

Don't forget
Don't forget
I love
I love
I love you
-Vienna Teng, "The Atheist's Christmas Carol"

144. In the bleak midwinter frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone
Snow had fallen, snow on snow
Snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter, long long ago

What then can I give him, empty as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb
If I were a Wise Man I would know my part
What then can I give him?
I must give my heart.

145. The lamp is burnin' low upon my table top
The snow is softly falling
The air is still within the silence of my room
I hear your voice softly calling
If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you

The smoke is rising in the shadows overhead
My glass is almost empty
I read again between the lines upon each page
The words of love you sent me

If I could know within my heart
That you were lonely too
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you

The fire is dying now, my lamp is growing dim
The shades of night are liftin'
The morning light steals across my windowpane
Where webs of snow are driftin'

If I could only have you near
To breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
Upon this winter night with you
And to be once again with you

146. I’ll have a blue Christmas without you
I’ll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won’t be the same dear, if you’re not here with me

And when the blue snowflakes start falling
That’s when those blue memories start calling
You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue Christmas

You’ll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas

147. I walked down the dirt road to church
It was simple then
Together on Christmas we prayed
It was simple then

With a candle in my hand
I heard my Daddy singing
In church I wasn't alone
It was simple then

148. Mistletoe by Walter de la Mare
Sitting under the mistletoe
(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
One last candle burning low,
All the sleepy dancers gone,
Just one candle burning on,
Shadows lurking everywhere:
Some one came, and kissed me there.

Tired I was; my head would go
Nodding under the mistletoe
(Pale-green, fairy mistletoe),
No footsteps came, no voice, but only,
Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely,
Stooped in the still and shadowy air
Lips unseen - and kissed me there.
