The nice thing about fic is, of course, the opportunity to show these little interactions between characters that should have been given time on the show. That no one ever! asked Spike about his soul on air still completely astonishes me.
Thanks, Cindy. I'm always trying to make up for the fact that none of the Watchers on that show showed the least bit of interest in how Spike got that soul! :)
Wonderful story, Sandy. I love the hint of gentle pathos you've added to the beginning, especially "Wesley was about to ask him to leave so he could get on with his work when he noticed a look in the vampire's eyes, a hint of... loneliness perhaps." Very believable and just poignant enough to add flavoring without being sappy. It's a pleasure to read it again.
