You know why I'm so looking forward to the time I can finally retire? Because, with luck, it'll cut down my having to deal with stupid people to a reasonable level. *headdesk*

I hope that is indeed the case for you. I bolded out the with luck part of your comment because I certainly haven't experienced a decrease in stupid people I have to deal with. At times it even feels like there are more of them now than ever. Then again sometimes I think I'm a shit magnet.
My retirement is a moving goal post! Currently it's set at 12 years away but I suspect it'll be closer to 17 by the time it happens as they keep changing when you can claim your pension!
In truth, I suspect I will die of extreme old age at my desk at work! People will come in one day thinking I fell asleep there and not notice I'm actually dead until I start to smell bad!
Unfortunately that's not so much of a joke in my household--my step father died less than 3 weeks before his retirement! Sadly, I have a feeling I might meet the same fate as I cannot afford to retire on my current 'pension' *sigh* Though it didn't stop my ex from retiring this year at 54! I bet I'll still be working when I'm 70 :(
