I just finished telling a lefty friend that he can't possibly disappoint US, so perhaps he'll just prove a pleasant surprise. The real danger is how he has been almost deified by some of his supporters; there's a real possibility they could turn on him, when he proves to be just an ordinary man. The way he has been built up, the expectations put upon his shoulders- in a way? I worry for him. There is no way he can possibly live up to it all; no mortal man could.

You're very right. Even in his speech last night, he warned his supporters that all that change is not going to happen overnight.

I'm going to pray both for him and our country. And I hope he can put a leash on Reid and Pelosi before they go totally nuts.

Thank you for the most rational comment I've read from a conservative tonight. I know Obama's not the second coming. He's not perfect. There are issues I don't agree with him on. But I have hope that with him as President, America will become strong again, liked again, needed again, and I hope he can pull it off. It's going to take a lot of hard work.

Well, I'm not so much a Conservative as a right leaning moderate - except for National Defense where I am very conservative.

I do hope that he's able to accomplish much, and that at the end of his Presidency we're a stronger, better nation.
