I'm wondering if you have a beta who does more than spelling and punctuation. Because I really wanted to love this story but 2 things ruined it for me, both of which a good beta would point out. The first was "...bobbing his head in a rhythm as old as time." because, honestly, so precious that it made me cringe. Second: "unguent"?!?! A built-in thesaurus is not always a good and necessary thing. These two things made the whole thing come across kind of pretentious in an "I know more big words than you" kind of way. I'm not always the best at making constructive criticism sound constructive, so if this is coming across as mean I apologize. I LIKED this story quite a bit. I think with a little toning down of the language I could have LOVED it.

OK, so I read a bunch more of your stories and I really, really like them. It's probably love but I'm a bit commitment-phobic. I don't know why those little things in this one bothered me so much. After reading more of your stuff, though, I think you must have a pretty good beta because nothing in the language or phrasing of things stood out (which, as far as I'm concerned, is a good thing). I'm sure I'm rambling, so I'll go now.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, which I have no problem receiving and much appreciate. I'm glad you enjoyed the story in spite of those two bits.

ok, sorry to bother you with this, but has Critical Mass aired in the US yet? i don't remember this ep, or Epiphany (i think that is the name). I keep seeing fics concerning these eps and have no clue about when they were on tv.

The last episode showed in the US was The Lost Boys. Episodes will start airing again in Jan. Canada started airing the second half of season 2 with The Hive on Nov 21. Nov 28 was Epiphany and Dec 5 was Critical Mass.

You can see the Atlantis airing schedule for the various countries here.

For some reason, these episodes are airing in Canada on their The Movie Channel. After they air, they become available for dl which is how I've seen them. New episodes begin airing here in the US on Sci Fi sometime in January.

Guh -- very hot and a great way to continue the ep.

"The little naked alien guy was able to beam all of the snake-thing out of him, and Beckett says so far so good."

I liked that Sheppard was concerned about Caldwell, and this line just highlights the fact that he had no clue about real life aliens until he sat in a funky chair.

"Bitchin', dude," he answered indulgently.

ROTFL!!! I could so see this. :)

Sheppard's reaction to Hermiod in The Intruder just cracked my shit up so much that I had to include a reprise here. *g*

So glad you liked the story.

He was almost asleep when the sound of his door sliding open brought him back to half wakefulness. The weight of a heavy body landing on top of him brought him the rest of the way awake.

This made me giggle like a loon because, when I was a little kid, our dog used to sneak into my room and do the exact same thing to me! *g*

I'm sure having John on top of him is well worth the loss of Rodney's spleen. He wouldn't have to vent it any more! *g*

Adorable hotness. :D

Hee! Yes, the body falling on top of one when one is half-asleep is a joy not to be missed. Luckily for Rodney though, John didn't actually rupture his spleen because really, Rodney wouldn't be Rodney if he wasn't venting his spleen regularly.

Glad you like it. :)
