have you looked into/thought about surrogacy vs adoption?

and this might be too personal to ask about but i'll ask and then you can answer or not- how important is the age of the child? if you look at adoption are you looking at US and or private adoptions?

I had a lesbian couple who went through adoption/surrogacy which is why I'm interested in your thought processes. I'll continue to think baby thoughts at your girl/boy bits.

Ideally we would like to adopt a newborn. I have seen enough about how detachment disorder and how soon it can set in to make me nervous about adopting a non newborn.

We have not really talked about surrogacy but it is another thing to look into.

Having you thinking thoughts at my bits makes me nervous:)

We are looking at a US adoption. We'd consider surrogacy but it seems pretty expensive (like $70k), so that's probably not really an option for us. We're considering both private and agency adoptions, though. Haven't looked enough into either to have made a decision yet...my heart has pretty much given up on the hope of getting pregnant, but there's still a flicker left..
