I was thinking about volunteering for comic con but I'm not sure yet.
Any advice from those who have done so on what I should expect?
Is there a better way to go about it than doing so on-line?

If you're day-volunteering (that is working a few hours to get a one day badge) expect about 7time out of 10 that you'll be bored to tears for the entire time you're volunteering. Having run one of the businest departments I can tell you that sometimes it's hard to find something for the enthusiastic volunteers to do to keep them awake and interested.

If you're commiting to more time in order to get a 4-day pass I'd start by registering online asap. Most departments would or should have a nearly full alotment of longer term volunteers. That doesn't mean that they can't use the help and may move you around depending on the needs of the various departments.

I've always enjoyed myself as a volunteer. It's a good time, even on those occasions where you're bored to tears. :)
